Re: Bands playing European Festivals, NO UK dates yet
As much as I would be happy with Iron Maiden playing, I just cannot see them repeating a headliner 12 months on. Has that ever happened with any of the big festivals?
Re: Bands playing European Festivals, NO UK dates yet
Dude, you have a lot of time on your hands!
I think Maiden might to do it - they kicked off their tour last time with a festival, and seemed to love it, so I wouldn't rule them out.

they've got no uk dates yet, I don't know whether they will as they had dates with their new album at the end of last year.

Re: Bands playing European Festivals, NO UK dates yet
Yeah looking at that sonisphere ain't happening.

Not sure about any UK festivals, but a few years back Nova Rock in Austria, a very similar festival, had linkin park 2 years in a row in 2011 and 2012. I'm sure there are other examples.

Misread that and thought Roy Hodgson was doing a spoken word tour, part of me wishes he was; Bohemia headline slot taken care of there.
Oh joy another game of truth or troll

Iron Maiden did grass pop 2005, 2007 and 2008. So 3 in 4.

What kind of festival would have the same headliner three times in four festivals!?

That's only including bands that have already been announced for festivals, there's probably loads more bands yet to announce and bands which could do it, but are still in talks.

Resigned myself to it not happening so if it does then that's only a good thing, rather than thinking it does happen and being let down for if they say it doesn't

Re: Bands playing European Festivals, NO UK dates yet
I'd guess grass pop can get away with it a hell of alot more than any UK fest could. I only checked grass pop, because I remember someone saying KISS play every year and as it turns out that was just wrong.

So many good bands on that list that could have made an amazing Sonisphere 2015.
Placebo
Gojira
Triptykon
Weedeater
Fear Factory
Deafheaven
My Dying Bride
Testament
Bloodbath
Satyricon
Saint Vitus
Ahab
That would have sold me a ticket
