Going really well thanks. Both had last week off, spent 90% of it together, put up Ikea furniture and we're still together. Must be pretty solid to manage that.

Known her over a year now

I'm going to guess that Charlie did most of the actual furniture assembling/being useful bits :P
Just kidding, love oo!

Is it your mum Lee?

I had another baby, although I keep forgetting about it. It's like in my head it's "the two kids... and that one." Either I'm a terrible father or I can't count to three. Maybe both.

We both did pretty well tbh, I was impressed with my handyman skills. It's all still together a week later :)

Seven months, so he's been around for a while. But there's, like, a law of diminishing returns. So the first one is like, you're obsessed with it all the time from day one, the second is kind of interesting once it learns to talk and the third you only remember when it starts crying after being accidentally left outside all night. On plus side, he's developing a pretty low-maintenance personality: you only have to look at him and smile and he gurgles in delight like it's the best thing ever.

I think you should save this comment and show it to your kids when they grow up.

Not that I haven't heard that said (in less extreme terms) by other parents, but it kicks the "er love and treat all our kids equally) ideal into touch :P

I think you inevitably love your kids equally, because all of them top out the 'love-o-meter', as it were. When you're a kid you pester your parents to know who's favourite, and you assume the answer is a cop-out. But if all of them max out your emotional capacity, then it really is true to say you love them all equally.

But treating them equally... yeah... impossible. You can try and be fair, but there's no way you can give a younger sibling the same attention as you gave the eldest at the same stage. A second/ third / fourth child is always going to have a massively different experience to a kid born into a house with no other children.

I think that if I ever manage to let two kids loose in the world, I'd stop trying for more and just start buying dogs.

Making kids is more fun than buying dogs.

That 100% depends on money unfortunately... working part time at Asda doesn't really give you a fortune. But if I can afford it I will definitely come.
