Introduce Yourself

Introduce yourself and babble about anything else here: my broken arm, computing, toothpaste, favourite hair salon, or even just how your day is going. It all goes in here.

Introduce Yourself

Postby triaxis » Mon Mar 09, 2009 12:06 am

Howdy

This is the introductions thread - if you're new, post here and introduce yourself

I'm Paul - regular chatboard user and big fan of most types of music, predominantly rock, metal, dance, and techno.

I'm doing several festivals this year (Hammerfest, Download, Sonisphere, BOA, Reading) and can't wait to party at them all

Doktored here, a festival regular for the last 14 years.

Often found DJing under the name Beef Warehouse at Glastonbury, Latitude, ATP's UK & NYC, Leeds. This year looking forward to Sonisphere UK as an addition to that, also wondering how the hell I could afford Coachella... Need sunshine.

Rockgeek.

Geek... but not a rock. Found developing webby stuff in between gigs. My musical tastes can be summed up here: http://www.last.fm/user/pee2pee (please excuse Arctic Monkeys, I left computer on at work whilst on holiday)

Admin on other festival forums and I run my own site: http://www.strictlyreading.co.uk. Used to go out with Triaxis but it never worked out

Looking forward to meeting you all there!

hello I'm bob.

been going to festivals since 1995 (donington). That year it was just £26 for day tickets.... 9 awesome bands playing.

I am surrently put off going to sonisphere by extremely high ticket prices and lack of day tickets. I have no desire to watch or hear linkin park.

I listen to metal/thrash/death/doom and stoner.

I hate nu-metal, any dance gooseberry, emo, indie and the like.

I'm Leanne.. obviously

only really decided to go to Sonisphere originally because I can't get to Download this year. turns out I prefer this line up so it all worked in my favour really.

Hi Bob - welcome

I think I was born a decade too late - £26 in 95!? Yeeesh - that said I try and find Value for Money in all the festivals I go to

I was gonna do day tickets for this but seeing as my other half is celebrating her birthday that weekend, we decided that we wanted to party

Mikey - ah cool good stuff, I recognise the name

Leanne - welcome

Hey, I'm Corney91. I'm 17 (nearly 18! :D) and never been to a festival before - not been much of a live music person until recently. Can't wait to see NIN! But first I need to find some money... =/

Hiii. Never been to a festival either. I live close enough to hear gigs at Knebworth, so I think I'd rather be going than sitting at home, moaning that I wasn't there.

Hey everyone, I'm Kate, but lately I'm more commonly known as Degs or Deggie :o)

This is my second festival, I was at D/L in 2007, many fond memories from that, but I'm hoping I won't be feeling so homicidal over lack of sleep this time!!

I'm a HUGE A7X/Metallica fan, can't wait to see them both (again!) Also really looking forward to seeing BFMV, Thin Lizzy and Airbourne

SONISPHERE FTW!!

xx

Hello all, I'm Jon from London.

I've been going to gigs for almost 16 years now, seen everyone from Pink Floyd to Prong via Prince and the Pixies... first festival was Donny in 1995 and my last was Reading in 2008. I used to run a hugely successful music-based website and now I work for a national newspaper.

This will be my first time at Knebworth and I'm looking forward to it.

Hi I'm Kelly, 28, regular festival goer for a fair few years now. Do the Download RIP thing every year and once I've saved the cash (half way there!) will be doing the Sonisphere VIP thing as well. In addition to that I'll prob be at Reading even if it's only for a day this year. Do a couple of gigs a month and like all sorts of music. Can't wait to see what Sonisphere is like :)
Upcoming gigs
Wednesday 13 - 3rd April, London
Papa Roach - 17th April, London
Pink - 2nd May, London
Download Festival (RIP) - 12th-14th June, Donington Park
Sonisphere Festival (VIP) - 1st-2nd August, Knebworth Park
Eddie Izzard - December, London

Welcome Degs, D_C, Kelly, and Jon

It's my first time at Knebworth too - I envy a mate of mine who was there for the Oasis gig a while back. He said it was a fantastic experience

Hi

I'm Foxtrot and I don't really use any other boards. I lurk a bit on Download but have never felt the urge to dive in. I thought as this was the start of something new I would join in. This year I will be at Wakestock, Bloodstock, Leeds, Glastonbury and Sonisphere. All very different but as I seem to spend the entire time sitting on the grass talking to my friends it doesn't really make that much difference who is on stage. I just love the festival atmosphere and all the quirky things that go on so am really excited to see what Sonisphere turns out as. I will make an effort to watch for Metallica though!
