Heard a rumour that Sonisphere are trying to get Rammstein to do the Euro tour, looks likely that they will be headlining the Spain leg so far, alongside Metallica.

Of course, metalicbear is never wrong about anything. Rage Against The Machine confirmed.

So I'm thinking the only way it can happen is if they have ACDC, Sabbath and Maiden with a new album as headliners? What are the chances? I'd be there (despite my moaning after last time)!. Might get a day ticket to download, tempted by a day ticket to bloodstock but no proper festival for me this year otherwise.. :(

No way those 3 together. Would cost far far far too much. Sabbath or AC/DC on their own with 2 smaller headliners would be way more than enough to sell out the event.

I don't know - from the looks of things a lot of people won't buy tickets out of spite for being kept waiting! Plus I think that might pull in day tickets rather than camping? If they get sabbath I'm going! If they get 2 out of 3, I'm going. If they get all 3, it would be frakking AMAZING! They could charge triple for tickets and still sell out! They need to really pull it out the bag, as I'm going to have to seriously wrangle to get time off work, as I'm sure a lot of people are, unless they want a cancellation again. The suspense is killing me!

It's all talk. If people like the bands playing, and can afford to buy a ticket I seriously doubt they'll decide to give it a miss for having to wait an extra month or so for the announcement. I've seen a few people complaining about a lack of announcement as "poor customer service", which in itself is nonsense because if they don't have the bands locked down yet then what are they meant to do, they can't announce bands before they sign on the dotted line etc... I think the majority of potential buyers are a bit more sensible in their approach than a noisy minority complaining they'll never buy a ticket again because they wanted an announcement a few weeks ago, not now :P

...and those disgruntled people saying "I'm not going now" will be the same folks saying "the lineup is gooseberry, I'm not going" - if any lineup is revealed for 2015.
Most people won't be to bothered anyway as they generally don't panic about buying tickets to an event that is 6/7 months away and never sells out until very very close to the event itself, if at all.
Ofcourse some people do need to book time off work and may struggle to get time off at peak times in the summer (school hols etc) and Soni are not particularly quick to announce dates compared to almost every other festival.
It's bound to be frustrating for some and Soni will lose a few customers because of it but if the lineup is strong enough to sell out, they won't care.

I'm hoping for Rammstein as one of the headliners. AC/DC, Sabbath and Rammstein, that would be a pretty incredible lineup and would sell a ton of tickets.

I don't think it'll be AC/DC - they seem to have booked up a full summer's worth of work with their tour. Metalicbear has confirmed Rammstein, and I reckon if it goes ahead System of a Down will be one of the other headliners. It's interesting to me that they haven't officially said 'no Soni Knebworth this year'. I've looped back out of pessimism and back into optimism, like Pac-Man.

Does anyone have any clue how Download is doing this year? Seems very subdued on the forums. I wonder sometimes whether the rock metal+scene has slowed down too much over the last five years to make three day festivals viable.

Yeah, the fact that they haven't officially said it isn't going ahead means it is definitely going ahead. And it will I guess be in mid-late August, which is perfect as it's a quiet time at work for me.

So yeah, Sabbath, System of a Down and Rammstein are good headliners. It would be nice if metallicbear would confirm some of the undercard as well so I can start to get properly excited.

The Rammstein rumour came from a Spanish website, can't find it now though, but it said Sonispere Spain TBC - 29-31st May - Kiss, Rammstein, Metallica. The paragrath underneath mentioned Rammstein in talks to do the rest of the Sonisphere tour.

It's probably a load of bollocks, but who knows.

Personally I think Maiden will be one of the headliners announced this month if it's going ahead. Not sure why, but I think Kasabian might be another, announced when T in the Park announce as well as subbing to Muse on other Sonisphere shows..

It wouldn't surprise me if they were in talks with Rammstein, though being as they are, and how much rehearsing goes into each tour, they aren't the sort of band I'd expect to do one-offs or short tours. That poster definitely isn't official in any way either, could have just been a mock up done by the site, or a bs fake rumour.

It's fake, the line at the bottom reads roughly translated "HAPPY DAY OF THOSE FOOLS AND HORNS UP! "

A day similar to April Fools celebrated on the 28th December in Spain.

Don't know why but the longer we go without any news, the more I'm starting to think they're going to repeat the mistake they made in 2012.

I think it depends on how the line up is would really mean if it's a mistake or not. Especially as the competition is decent but not as big as there was in 2012 with less of a headstart from what I remember

I agree - if it wasn't happening they would have said. Rammstein would be fab, saw them at DL and it was brilliant. I'd love to see slipknot again too, although then it's really similar to DL 13, especially if they do get Maiden (identical even..). Couldn't get tickets for the slipknot tour which I was gutted about. My other half is voting for DL this year, but I'm still wanting to hold out to see what headliners are announced here.

Slipknot are playing Download. They won't be playing Sonisphere.

How are people this stupid?

Didn't say I thought they would be playing sonisphere, just that I'd like it. And I would like it.
