With the Offspring playing Grozerock in early May I would of thought that would of made them more likely for DL than Soni

Matt Cameron has released a statement saying he's sitting out of Soundgarden's 2014 dates due to Pearl Jam touring but I found an interesting part in the statement:

'SOUNDGARDEN is scheduled to play at Lollapalooza festivals in Chile, Argentina and Brazil in the spring and has confirmed several German concerts in June'.

So they will be in Europe around soni and they've already played download 2 years ago, maybe makes them likely for soni?

I assume the German shows are with Sabbath again? I dunno if we'll get both Sabbath and Soundgarden to be honest, too much like DL 2012. I could be very wrong though, there were two Sonisphere 2011 headliners at that festival so getting Sabbath and Soundarden may not be too outlandish.

Could always play different days, plus both bands have released a new album since dl 2012

If we have Sabbath, we will surely have Soundgarden as well, considering they are touring together and if we have Soundgarden there's a good chance we could have Pearl Jam as well.

Motorhead are heavily rumoured to be playing With Full Force festival, same weekend as Sonisphere, history at Sonisphere, would appeal to the Knebworth 40.

Amon Amarth also rumoured for With Full Force.

Arch Enemy, Behemoth, Epica all playing at Masters of Rock a week after Sonisphere, all have history with the Sonisphere tour. The Exploited are also playing and we know how much SG likes his punk, could be a Bohemia headliner.

Opeth are playing Metaldays festivals a fortnight after Sonisphere, history with Sonisphere.

Dimmu Borgir are playing at Tuska Open Air a week before Sonisphere.

Stone Temple Pilots are touring next year, but haven't announced any shows yet, Andy Copping has already stated that they won't be at Download, we know they were meant to play Sonisphere when they reformed, but delayed their tour.

Nine Inch Nails are due to tour in June, won't be playing Download.

Muse? Rolling Stones? Led Zep?

All worked with Kili / SG - very recently with the first two

I got to meet Johan Hegg last night while at defenders of the faith (great guy :) ) and I asked him if they were playing soni next year, he didn't deny it but said they were going to play a UK festival next year. So maybe Soni of BOA?

The first date of their tour next Summer is Wacken so far, I think Bloodstock is probably the most likely.

Hopefully Soni as their set at this years DL was only about 20 mins cos they took too long with their stage props and stuff lol.

Been rumoured for Bloodstock for a while now but Bloodstock and Soni are both run by Kili so could end up playing both.

Devildriver are in Europe until at least April 18th. I guess they could stick around for some festivals.

Hellfest's website says

On 4th December get ready for the new Hellfest 2014 announcement. No festival has gathered so many Metal Legends Enter History! Be Quick or be Dead!

That pretty much confirms one band as a Hellfest headliner...

It doesn't tell us much more about Sonisphere in particular, but it makes the festival Maths a bit stronger.

I think the radio guy said the 3rd, but if Hellfest are saying the 4th then they're announcing on the 4th.

With Full Force, German festival, the same weekend as Sonisphere has just announced -

Volbeat
Rob Zombie
Motorhead
Emmure
Bring Me The Horizon
Trivium
Kataklysm
Mad Ball
Walls of Jericho
Behemoth

I would put a bet on us getting BMTH, Motorhead and Behemoth.

Think BMTH are gonna be at Download personally. Madball at Sonisphere would be a lot of fun.

I think Trivium might do Sonisphere, purely because they'd be a new band, although they are a Download staple though. Motorhead will always be popular despite being dreadful and they would fit into the 40th anniversary theme. Unfortunately I can't think of any reason why Bring Me The Hairspray wouldn't play (other than being atrocious) and Volbeat would go down well as they were excellent in 2011.

I think BMTH will be at Sonispere, they've worked a lot with SG over the years. Lately they did Sonisphere 10 and Warped tour 2012. I think Sonisphere 14 would fit in well.

I think Emmure might work in the Bohemia, for the hardcore lot
