One of the few perks of being English

Still not a perk if you live up North... Where I live Manchester doesn't count as North.

The North is from Birmingham up.

I'm tempted to say everything from Leeds down is the South, but I suspect I'd be the only one arguing that.

If the M25 ran to Birmingham you'd be correct.

Without wanting to make this argument any sillier than it already is, it's faster to get from Portsmouth to Birmingham than Birmingham to where I live, so it's not even the middle of the country. Anyway, back on topic, bands should do more expansive tours and venture further north than Manchester. And back on the actual topic, Iron Maiden should play Flight of Icarus :D

The North is from Derbyshire upwards, I'd say. Anything north of the Midlands.

Seriously? They didn't do hallowed be thy name?

Thats the only reason I am going this year.

I think that 'Hallowed be thy Name' is almost certain to return and we already know that 'Fear of the Dark' will be in there as usual. As to the rest of the set, who knows? I'd like to see songs like 'Infinite Dreams', 'Heaven Can Wait', 'Stranger in a Strange Land' and 'Killers' make a final appearance in the setlist but I'm not sure how likely they'll be. The press release for the announcement of this tour said that it would cover the entire 80s period plus one 90s song ('Fear of the Dark', unfortunately) so I'm guessing that 'Aces High' will stick around at least. I'll bet a million pounds that they won't play 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' though.

Yeah, it was dropped for last year.

But its back on the setlist this year? Otherwise I might have to rethink.

I would expect so, they usually play it. Just dropped it for the last tour for some reason. The original Maiden England setlist is this:
setlist | Show
"Moonchild"
"The Evil That Men Do"
"The Prisoner"
"Still Life"
"Die with Your Boots On"
"Infinite Dreams"
"Killers"
"Can I Play with Madness"
"Heaven Can Wait"
"Wasted Years"
"The Clairvoyant"
"Seventh Son of a Seventh Son"
"The Number of the Beast"
"Hallowed Be Thy Name"
"Iron Maiden"

I wouldn't be surprised if the set they play at Sonisphere is very close to that, but with Fear of the Dark and Running Free thrown in. Obviously I'm not expecting it to be exactly the same otherwise, but close.

Not infinite Dreams, can't stand that song

I'd like to hear Where Eagles Dare or Sanctuary, as long as it doesn't knock The Prisoner off the setlist

We'll know in late May when the tour starts. Keep all the setlist discussion in spoiler tags when the tour starts though!

If they play that setlist but replaced Die With Your Boots On with Flight of Icarus that would be good.

Loved that they played Phantom of the Opera last year (definitely one of their best songs) so hoping that stays but to be honest they've got so many great songs I'll be happy whatever. Just to clarify is this going to be only old stuff? They're not going to have any of the newer songs at all? Always like to have a mix but can't complain :D
