YOU IDIOT IT'S THEIR BEST SONG

I ALWAYS SKIP THAT TRACK WHEN LISTENING TO THE ALBUM, IT'S PROBABLY THEIR WORST SONG (well for Bruce era anyway)

the_arsonist wrote:Loved that they played Phantom of the Opera last year (definitely one of their best songs) so hoping that stays but to be honest they've got so many great songs I'll be happy whatever. Just to clarify is this going to be only old stuff? They're not going to have any of the newer songs at all? Always like to have a mix but can't complain :D

yep, you'll get 1 90's song and the rest is all 80's material

Yup. My understanding is only stuff from the 80s.

Some of it will be played for the last time when we see them

So, now that they have spent two years touring the arse of their 80s catalogue, I wonder what their next tour might be about?

+1. I f*cking love that song and would love for them to play it.

I saw Maiden at Sonisphere last year in Madrid; setlist as follows;

| Show
1.Moonchild
2.Can I Play with Madness
3.The Prisoner
4.2 Minutes to Midnight
5.Afraid to Shoot Strangers
6.The Trooper
7.The Number of the Beast
8.Phantom of the Opera
9.Run to the Hills
10.Wasted Years
11.Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
12.The Clairvoyant
13.Fear of the Dark
14.Iron Maiden
Encore:

15.Aces High
16.The Evil That Men Do
17.Running Free

I think the set will be close if not bang on that. Minus 'Afraid to shoot strangers' unfortunately :(. Hopefully lump in Infine Dreams in it's place :D :D :D c'maaaaan

That was the set they played the entire last tour. When it finished they said they'd be changing it slightly to represent all of their '80s stuff (plus Fear of the Dark). At a guess I'd say that means less stuff from Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.

Just realised they didn't play anything off Killers at Download, so swap Afraid To Shoot Strangers for Wrathchild?

Hope so. If they could work Flight of Icarus and Flash of the Blade into the set that would be good. Probably an unpopular opinion but I wouldn't mind them getting rid of 2 Minutes to Midnight and The Number of the Beast.

'2 Minutes to Midnight' should stay but 'The Number of the Beast' can go as far as I'm concerned. I'd be amazed if they ever dredged 'Flash of the Blade' up from the 80s.

I agree. I was just thinking if they're gonna play something representative of their 80s era they might as well do something rare as well. Oh well, I'll be happy as long as they keep Can I Play With Madness? in; haven't saw them play it yet.

Eh, I preferred last year's set list myself. none of the minor changes really improve it, for me personally.

You mind sticking that in spoiler tags, mate? I don't mind personally, but if someone who doesn't want to know the setlist wanders in they might be pretty annoyed.

I'm happy with it, though. It's a better setlist than both times I've seen them and they've kept the one song I was particularly hoping for :)

I'm happy enough with it generally as there are a few songs I've not seen before anyway. But of the changes they made from Download last year, they've got rid of two songs I love and replaced them with 2 songs I'm a bit "meh" for.

Can't say the changes to the setlist are what I'd hoped for, or exactly "more 80's" but ya know...

Not really changed that much from DL, but what they have changed I prefer and 5th on the list is arguably one of the best Maiden tracks along with 8th imo.

should be a good set

I thought they always closed with Running Free, or is it that they always play "Iron Maiden", I can't remember. Also, Bruce mentioned retiring some songs after this tour, It's going to be 7th of a 7th son and Revelations isn't it? :(

Do Maiden do a TOUR setlist rather than on a gig by gig basis?
