most definitely seems as they never p off! I do love seeing them live but it'd be nice for something different although they're the most generic and likely as one of the headliners unfortunately.

They shift tickets and are a safe booking! They haven't played Sonisphere since 2011 so wouldn't be too soon ;)

if they play sonisphere dies, thats basically how i see it, they will do well this year because for some strange reason metallica stills ell tickets to festivals but next year they die because it just proves theyre a one trick pony

honestly im sick of them theyre not even THAT good.

I like them, I do but they play a UK festival pretty much every year and im sick to death of them

thing is though lots of people want to see them year after year , i agree getting away from them would be best but they are a safe bet

they are for a single fest yeah i wont dispute that but they are a safe bet sonisphere have used twice already and imho theyre also a bit of a time bomb because while generally they are a safe bet now i worry when that will end because this cant keep going on

Orchestral show for the fifteenth anniversary of S&M, perhaps.

Not removing this from my signature until:

Sonisphere UK 2013 is confirmed: [WELP.]
Headliner announcements made: [NOPE.]
Alter Bridge booked: [NADA.]
Arcane Roots booked: [NEVER.]
Outkast booked: [HAHA, NO.]

I've seen them at festivals what, 7 times? But I still enjoy them.

As long as they mix it up a bit, this would be the 5th time I've seen them with the clip from the good the bad and the ugly for their opening.

But yeah, I agree they wouldn't be an inspired booking, or even a good booking. Iron Maiden would be risky enough as they've already headlined. 2009 will still be the only year where there has been a full set of unique headliners.

As long as they mixed the set list up a fair bit I wouldn't mind too much; although I would prefer a fresh booking if possible.

I have seen Metallica a shed load over the years and would rather they didn't play but would understand why if they do, just hope if they did it would not be another album in full crap as at DL I got frickin bored as Metallica is the worst album ever in my personal opinion.

It sucked ass but I would genuinely rather watch that than Metallica... When they were touring that album at DL 2004 was hilarious, lots of young kids at the front waving St Anger flags and then they played nothing off that album :p

They've played just about every other album in full haven't they? Perhaps they'll do the tenth anniversary set at their Antarctica show. "This one goes out to the penguins".

I wonder if they'll tempt fate and play trapped under ice?
