Skindred

If there’s one man capable of getting 60,000 music fans to go loco it’s Skindred’s Benji Webbe. The charismatic frontman has led his raga-punk troupe since 1998, earning a reputation as one of the best live acts around today. With an instantly recognisable sound totally their own, their musical mix of metal, reggae, dance and punk is at it’s height, as they headline the sold-out Jagermeister Music Tour next month.
Whether it’s a packed out club or a huge festival field the size of Knebworth, one can be certain that everybody in sight will have no option but to let the music take over, and their set on the Saturn stage will be one of Saturday’s highlights.

no prizes for guessing this lot would be playing again

I'm not going to say it.

Someone else will have to say it.

Don't look at me, I just said I won't say it.

You can't make me say it.

No.

Not gonna happen.

Missed 'em in 2009, saw them in 2010 still not particularly knowing them and they managed to cheer me up after the events of the evening before (i.e. hearing Rammstein from various medic tents), which was a tough job, so definitely looking forward to seeing them again now I actually have all their albums and know their music. Especially as I managed to overlook the fact that they're playing a show in Bristol on my birthday, which is a Saturday, which is now sold out.

they put on a good show, that's for sure. I think I've seen them a couple of times too many (4 times in 4 years) to be genuinely excited about them but I'll be watching anyway (barring clashes)

Considering how huge a fan I am and the fact that I can't go to their tour, very lovely announcement for me.

Did not want them to be announced.

If they play an acoustic set, I might be there. If not, I shall avoid them.

Good live band, but do I want to see them at every festival ever? Nope. Hoping something good is on in one of the tents.

Will watch if they don't clash with anyone good. Got into the new album after initial scepticism so I wouldn't mind seeing the new songs live.

you can't go wrong with skindred live. i've seen them like 5 times now, and still psyched about seeing them again. They're like sex. Just cus you've had sex, doesn't mean you don't want sex again. Especially if the sex is amazing, and if you mix it up a bit each time. Thats why i don't really get why people complain about repeats so much. If you like a band, you see them as much as possible.

I imagine there are quite a few people here who, if they didn't see them in 2009, saw people saying how good they were and so caught them in 2010. I know I fall into that camp. They are a great band live though, the albums can't really capture the atmosphere.

(This is where they turn out to be crap this year. *crosses fingers in the hope he's not jinxed it*)

same, saw them twice in 2009, once in 2010 and 2011, and seeing them in April, so Soni 2012 will be 6 times in just under 3 years.

yeah, they're a great band, and they'll be a great show, especially if you've not seen em before. But it's hard to be excited about them when they play as regularly as they do.
