Black Stone Cherry

Postby PurpleDemon » Tue Mar 06, 2012 1:24 am

Said by DPC to be an "exclusive set". Interesting to see if that was a slip or whether they'll really do anything different to their Isle of Wight show.

Nevertheless, a great addition to Friday.

They were great at Download, and did a fantastic cover of Rolling in the Deep. In fact, I want them to do a studio version of it.

Bloody love this band. Saw them in Austria last year. I'd not heard the original so when they did Rolling In The Deep and all of the crowd sang along I was very confused!

yeah, they were at download last year... one of my top bands to see there and well deserved the reaction given the good show they put on.

do they have a new album out this year??

Nope. I'd imagine they'll probably start work on one after they've finished this tour.

They're considerably higher than they are at IoW. They don't seem to be too fussed about getting high spots at festivals. A booker's dream if you ask me.

They'll get a decent set length anyways I imagine seeing as it's the half day Friday. I think opening the festival on Friday afternoon is more than ideal for them, with say a 40 minute set, it's not like they've got a shitload of hits anyways - most people will only know the odd song or two. A great band to get the weekend started, and certainly smaller than Wolfmother.
