I'd imagine Justin Hawkins could pull of 'tie your mother down' pretty well actually.

I want Mike Patton to guest! actually, just have him sing for every band! including cypress hill

Have we really got to page three here without a Shaggy mention?

I've never been a Queen fan. They're not a band I imagine I will ever buy the CD's for etc.

That said, I think it will be a fantastic band to watch headline. No doubt. The songs are perfect for a festival and, vibrato-aside, Adam Lambert sounds great with them.

I'm really hoping we get Bohemian Rhapsody too!

Mike Patton HAS to sing a Queen song. Reckon he could do 'Seven Seas Of Rye' or 'Stone Cold Crazy' pretty well.

Looking forward to this.

I'm not a massive fan but I've been enjoying Queen II and Jazz in the last year, not sure they'll play anything off either of those records but it should be fun.

I should really get to know more Queen songs. I know all of the major hits obviously, but they alone wont fill a 90 - 120 min set.

I grew up hearing virtually their entire discography thanks to my mum.

I would be very surprised if they didnt play seven seas (queen II) and at least one of fat bottomed girls or bicycle race (Jazz)

Lets hope they do have a decent set of guest vocalists ..I mean young Adam has a good voice but Bohemian Rhapsody with continuous vibrato ?!? .....aaaaaaaargh.
Oh and I saw the original line up in the 70's and although not to my taste Queen put on a good show imo mostly down to a mixture of Freddies phenominal stage presence (though not a mind boggling as Ian Durys) and Mays distinctive guitar . So at least you've still got 50% of the original as a starter. Will be interesting

On the last tour, the Darkness did Tie your mother down and it sounded great.

I have seen Queen twice with Paul Rodgers, and was happy with how they dealt with Bohemian Rhapsody. They played previously unseen footage of Freddie playing the song from an old concert with that audio, Brian and Roger Sang and played their parts, and Paul only joined in for the vocals at the very end. Was a really moving tribute

I read a pretty interesting interview from Adam this morning:
http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog= ... more=1&c=1

He seems to hint there may be guests on stage for Bohemian Rhapsody which could be interesting. I like what he says about not even trying to replace Freddie too.

Whoever wrote / proofread that needs shot!

Good interview, if a little insulting "Metal fans throw bottles of urine" "Metal fans shout You Fat Bastard". I'm sure it's more than just metal fans that do that. PS NME, it's not a metal festival

Those are some pretty disgusting accusations from NME and I'm of a mind to e-mail them to tell them my feelings about that.

I'm not going to claim that Metal fans are always friendly and accepting, in fact there is a lot of hypocrisy in Metal about that sort of thing. Bottling does happen of course, I have seen My Chemical Romance and Aiden being bottled but Reading festival is by far the worst for it and in three years of Sonisphere not a single band has been bottled. Then the writer made up some crap about people pissing in the bottles first. I have no idea where the writer got the idea about Metal fans chanting "You fat bastard" either, Sonisphere is not a football match.

What an asshole.
