Queen with Adam Lambert

video of their performance at the mtv awards, bit pointless posting songs as I'm sure everyone knows a good number of queen songs

Really want to see this.

Not overly keen on how much vibrato he's got going on but he can definitely sing. Will be an awesome sing along.

Apparently they may have some surprise guest singers as well for the show. Justin Hawkins is obviously a big possibility seeing as he's already there.

Really not fussed about Queen, have never classed myself as a fan although i do like a few songs and Freddie was a brilliant front man! just have no real interest in seeing them live.

I grew up listening to Queen and I honestly never thought I'd see them so even without Freddie, this is still a big pull for me. Dead excited for this year.

Could be the band of the festival season, I'm expecting a lot of surprises considering it's their only show. Should be a great sing-along, the crowd will be mental for Don't stop Me.

Roger Taylor hinted at some potential guest singers on the radio this morning :) No specifics though!

This could be really epic if Lambert pulls it off. A few drinks in a field singing along to Queen classics....actually it does sound rather frakking awesome. It's always good to sing Queen when you are a little drunk.

I hope he understands that if they don't do Flash, then the set is automatically a failure.

It could be worse, I've had "Consider Yourself At Home" stuck in my head for about two days.

He can definatly sing and he seems really confident, it's just whether the crowd are willing to accept him or not. I think it'll be a good show, but won't be the best of the weekend

I had never heard him before just now. Although he doesn't have the stage prescene or charisma of Freddie, Lambert is a good singer (I've seen worse Queen tribute acts).

One of the biggest draws for soni so far for me

I saw Queen when they last played at Knebworth with Freddie Mercury. I never dreamed they would be back. This is going to be the highlight of the year I reckon

i love don't stop me now personally.

and part of me want bohemian rhapsody which i think they will probably play at the end.

i would love a lot of songs by queen to be honest... but "don't stop me now" makes me laugh cause i now associate it with shaun of the dead and drinking in pubs and i used to play my dad's record of bohemian rhapsody as a pre-teen (i assume that is about 10 or 11 years old).

:?

i really don't want who wants to live forever (as much as i love it, reminds me of highlander) as i think that might lower the mood a bit... the same with the other song i can't remember where the video is in black and white to hide how sick freddie was in it. i am so peeved that i can't remember the name of the song (something to do with "those are the days of our lives"). i just think it put a downer on the whole set. well, for me it would anyway. i would prefer it to be a lot more upbeat and fun.

I wonder if the vibrato was on purpose, or iff he was just shitting himself; because it wasnt that noticeable during We are the champions.

Massive step up vocally from Rogers (for Queen I mean, Rogers is good but different) and he seems like a born performer

I have to admit this is one of the things I am looking forward to the most. I grew up on Queen and didnt ever think I would have the opportunity to see them live and get to stand in a field with thousands of people belting my heart out to them :) Ive only recently heard of Adam but from what Ive seen of him, he can at least sing and looks like he can put on a good show. Its a brave man who stands in Freddies shoes so full respect to him.

When it was first rumoured that Queen would be playing, I didn't know what to think. Some pop singer filling the boots of one of the greatest frontmen of all time is a massive ask.

But after watching that video, I am feeling a little positive about it all. The boy has certainly got some potential.

Having Adam Lambert front them instead of Freddie Mercury hurts the star power and the occasion but not the music. That video is promising and I reckon it's going to be brilliant - they won't do something like this half-arsed. And to be honest, I think Brian May is more important to them than Freddie Mercury. It really would be weird to watch them without him.
