Marilyn Manson

Postby kazz » Tue Feb 21, 2012 1:00 am

i know this will be a controversial band choice for some but i love it.

has been a bit off his game recently but hopefully he will do well at soni and prove to the world that he is back on form.

:D

song selection: i have gone with a couple which are my personal favourites. sorry but i do love these ones. the nobodies and tourniquet. he has bouncier songs but i just love these ones.

enjoy.

I've never been fan of Manson, what's his stage show like?

his stage show that i saw was amazing.

he had a platform that raised off the ground (like went really high in the air) which he stood on to perform. he went off the stage and slapped hands with the crowd. he had this amazing robot thing in heart shaped glasses which walked around the stage. (i thought it was real). but then he pulled its head off and started singing to it.it was brilliant.

:D

she comes on at about 1:54. it is fantastic.

I watched a video last night of MM at Download in 09. It sounded dreadful. I hope he has sorted himself out...

Saw him at Download 07, he was ok, certainly not as bad as people are making out, he was absolutely crap at Download 09 though, but had a lot demons then. Apparently he has been brilliant lately, so hoping for big things, I hope I'm not as disappointed as I was with Limp Bizkit last year.

I think he will go all out and prove the doubters wrong.

Does he still play Tainted Love live? Looked at his tour stats and it seems like he doesnt play it all the time and never played it once during 2009.

Im hoping he plays This is the New gooseberry and The Beautiful People as well. Both songs been in WWE

I think this one's a real risk, with everyone knowing how poor he's been the last few UK shows. But I could just as easily see him putting on an amazing show and making all the doubters look stupid.

he's not my favourite, and (luckily from the sound of it) missed him at Download 09 for Chris Cornell, but will probably give him a shot this year.

fingers crossed.

I think the fact he's playing 3rd down makes it not so bad. Love him though so really looking forward to it, really hope he does show people he can still put on a good show - apparently his own UK shows after Download were all great, and he's seemingly sorted himself out, so I'm hopeful!

Apparently he's sorted himself out.
According to interviews, the attitude of the band is similar to that of during Mechanical Animals and Holywood and said the new album is like a more punk rock Mechanical Animals.
So guess it'll be quite interesting to see. I'm a huge Manson fan and really hope he pulls it out the bag.

Manson was ace in autumn 2009 at Nottingham Trent FM arena. I genuinely can't wait to see him again! 8-)

Caught the end of his set after watching Chris Cornell at Download 2009. Looked awful. The band had to restart the opening riff to Sweet Dreams because he was so wasted he missed his cue.

However, if there's nothing else on Bohemia etc, I will watch as I've heard he can be good when 'on form'

I'll give him two songs, he has so many tunes the potential is there. But I remember people saying things like "he was great on his own tour" etc. in the run up to DL 09 and well...yeah...

Was so dissapointed in 2009. Been a huge manson fan for years. New single is bloody awful as has Most of his stuff since Golden Age of Grotesque. Hopefully he'll pull out all the stops for Soni.

He was horrible when I saw him at Reading in 06(?), and I was so dissapointed because all I'd heard for years was "Manson stole the show at Reading 2001", "one of the best live acts in the world", etc...

I was really disappointed. While I don't think he's a fantastic artist, he undoubtedly has an excellent back catalogue for a live show and it just flat out flopped (imo). I've been told he was worse at Download too.

Still, I like enough of the songs to give him another go and hope for the best.

Imo one of the (if not the worst) booking soni has made. Cannot stand the man, I will be elsewhere when is due to perform.

I think that's his own headline shows and the first Soundwave show is tomorrow.
He's got 55 minutes at Soundwave so I guess we'll see what stays in the set in the next few days.

Edit: Made a playlist of the Setlist.FM set and that comes to 41 minutes so there is enough time to play that set. If you add the two songs still to be decided on the rehearsal set it comes to just under 50 minutes.
