I wouldn't expect to hear much from anything else other than 'Shape'. They were playing everything off that album before they split up (so there's 45 mins or so) and I wouldn't be surprised if they did pretty much the whole thing at these shows (not in order, mind). Rather Be Dead is likely but other than that, I'm guessing maybe one or two more. Perhaps a cover - they have a history of playing some hardcore classics I believe.

Nope, I just can't get into them. Listened to a few tracks on you tube and I just don't get it.

Anyway, at least I'll get a good spot for FNM

Have listened to the shape of punk to come and songs to fan the flames and I really don't get why they are so hyped. Apart from a few songs they seem fairly average (although granted, experimental) :?

They may sound average because they were pretty much the archetype for modern hardcore/metalcore. The Shape of Punk to come was released in 1998.

Agree with Alex, it's a big thing ( well, for me anyway ) to see these guys play as they are progenitors for what modern day hardcore/punk is. They were well ahead of the curve and other have since followed in the same footsteps and up until the recent reformation I never believed I'd get the chance to see them live.

I know man! I've been waiting since high school to see these guys. Since they split up, they've influenced some of my favourite bands like Cancer Bats, Every Time I Die and Gallows...and now get to see the group that inspired them all

Yeah, I think another reason for the excitement is that most people genuinely thought we'd never get the chance to see them. A lot of bands like say SOAD, Blink 182 or Soundgarden, people assumed sooner or later a reformation would happen, but Refused caught everyone a bit off guard despite the rumours that had been circulating.

Added to the fact that many fans have seen Blink, SOAD and even Soundgarden before they broke up, and Refused were largely unknown when they finished, and the vast majority of their fans have never seen them live as a result.

Setlist from the Umea show:

The Shape Of Punk To Come
The Refused Party Program
Refused Are Fucking Dead
Rather Be Dead
Coup D'État
Summerholidays Vs Punkroutine
The Deadly Rhythm
Hook, Line and Sinker
Circle Pit
Liberation Frequency
Life Support Addiction
Worms Of The Senses/Faculties Of The Skull

Everlasting
New Noise

I'd take that. As long as Life Support Addiction is in there then I'm happy

Yeah been watching some of the videos from last night this morning, can't wait for the real thing! Setlist is looking good too, glad there is a good mix of stuff like Everlasting and Coup d'etat etc... rather than all Shape of Punk to Come stuff and maybe just one or two tracks of other stuff.. Hopefully we get a similar set at Knebworth!

There's a better video of New Noise by the way, there's a half decent version of Everlasting kicking about as well.

I'm expecting New Noise to be one of the most insane songs of the weekend, in terms of the crowd. Depending on what Bohemia has to offer.

Which is a shame, as I really wanted to live to see Faith No More.
