I don't really get the burning city in the background though. Seems a bit out of place.

That's the point. That's the direction in sound the new albums gonna take. Don't expect heavy growling splendidness this time folks, it's gonna be a soft one.

They aren't as creative as The Mars Volta or NIN; they have a formula which they tend to stick to, unique as it is.

I'm also pretty sure Lizard King insinuated that he was a well rounded person

As much as i know about The Lizard King he wants people to appreciate the music and enjoy i without acting like an idiot his views on bands are exceptional you can tell this guy/troll has a real passion for music i wouldn't actually call him a troll he's pretty hilarious and has provided me many of giggles shame he got banned

I won't lie, I can't wait for Mars Volta. I will say its hard to get into them though, its all over the place. Not wanting to sound superior though, each to their own. If you want some incredible musicianship (even just a wee bit bit) these are the band to see. Opeth...I can see why they won't be loved, a festival doesn't do them justice, but still in my favourite bands to see.

yeah i will probably end up seeing them and i might be converted but i prefer simple, heavy riffs and anthems (basically like all metallica songs) rather than intricate complicated music :P

They were fantastic at Hellfest i thought, and now that i'm properly getting into them, there's no way i'm missing them.

It would be nice to hear them play Harvest.

They took In My Time of Need out of that for a 50 minute setlist at Grasspop. Chances are, that is what we are getting.

The Drapery Falls, get in. Whatever they play, I'll be happy.

Not the setlist I would have chosen, however, they are one of my favourite bands and any Opeth is good Opeth. Havn't seen Master's Apprentce live yet so should be a good show

Know what you're sayin...it's all killer no matter what they play, but they could absolutely slay us with some more of the classics 8-)
