While it's cool that they're getting such a long set, it is very frustrating to see In Flames right before them with only 40 minutes

Seeing as they are getting a longer slot than most of us thought, the set will look more like this hour long one they did in turkey...

| Show
Iron Tusk
March of the Fire Ants
Where Strides the Behemoth
Mother Puncher
Circle of Cysquatch
Aqua Dementia
Sleeping Giant
Crack The Skye
The Wolf Is Loose
Crystal Skull
Bladecatcher
Megalodon
Blood and Thunder

Couldn't have written a better set myself :P Although I would like it if they played a little bit more from Crack the Skye, even if they are now bored shitless of playing that album over and over.

That setlist looks glorious, great mix of albums. Have you seen them on the CTS touring cycle? While it was fantastic to hear the album in its entirety I personally would like a 'normal' set. I've seen them twice and both times was a CTS set.

Yep, saw it twice as well. Once in June '09 at the Islington academy, which is about 800 capacity. It was the most intimate gig with a big band I have ever been to - frakking amazing, the second part of the set had all the best songs from the previous albums. My favourite of all their gigs I have been to.

Saw it again in march '10 at the London roundhouse. Great gig, not as good as the first but it was nice seeing them play to a much bigger crowd

They were good at soni 09 as well, its just a shame they only got 35 mins or something stupid.

I agree its good to see them do a normal set for a change  after seeing that setlist I am now excited about them the most for the sunday :bow-yellow:

I'm totally excited for their hour long set and that setlist looks good! Although, I would of liked Divinations to be played too.

Airbourne aren't really above them, they get 15 minutes shorter set time and they're on a smaller stage.

If the bands on the 2 main stages were ranked in order of how high they are on the bill, it would look something like this:

Slipknot
Limp Bizkit
Bill Bailey
Mortorhead
Opeth
Mastodon
Airbourne
Parkway
In Flames
Arch Enermy
ect..

At soni, the sub headliners are always bigger than the saturn headliners e.g. NIN are bigger than A7x, Pendulum are bigger than Iggy Pop. Its just because of the way all the bands are split between the stages, all the Saturn ones are shifted up one because if they didn't, the end of each day would go: Saturn, Apollo, Saturn, Apollo, Apollo. So instead of having to wait for setup time between the last two Apollo bands, Its much more time saving to shift up Saturn to give us the messed up running order we have every year e.g. smaller band going on after bigger band every time it goes over to the saturn stage.

First new song off the album, "Black Tongue".

http://www.metalsucks.net/2011/07/25/new-mastodon-black-tongue-full-song-listen-now-you-fools/

Loving it, to me it's a great mix of Leviathan and Crack The Skye, which is always gonna make me very happy
