I reckon they will either do a song, or the whole gig unmasked. it is the only thing i can think of and i know a few other people mentioned this possibility.

The masks are one of the key things about Slipknot and always have been. They're never going to do a gig without them. Even one song would be unlikely, but I guess will have to wait and see until videos start going round of their show in Greece on Friday.

http://twitpic.com/5bnehr for anyone as excited as me, Slipknot tweeted this today.. Cool to see they'll still be using the AHIG theme. Was wondering if it would have changed. Excitement building.. :P

Unless I'm mistaken, which is 99.9% probable, I thought in the interviews they said they were doing something special for the UK - not for the whole tour?

Ah well in 3 weeks and 3 days we'll know for sure :music-rockon:

If they are doing something special it will be for the whole tour. I don't know why but every time a big band gets announced, there's always at least one person who thinks they will do something special just because its the UK. It almost never happens.

And as someone already said, It wont be without the masks. In the grand scheme of things, Slipknot is a performance.

The masks are part of the onstage persona that makes slipknot what it is, its not about the people that are under the masks. When they go up onstage, they become something else. Something larger than life perhaps. When those masks get taken off after each show, they return to being Corey, Mick, Jim, Shawn ect. who are just normal guys.

I'm going to download a few Slipknot songs in preparation for Sonisphere, so what do you think is the Essential Slipknot playlist? All I know is:

Psychosocial Baby
Wait & Bleed
Duality
Before I Forget
plus another couple of songs from 'The Subliminal Verses' that I liked.

Other big songs:

Spit It Out
Snuff
The Heretic Anthem
The Blister Exists
People = Lovely

Earlier today I had a look through Spotify trying to find a couple of songs I liked...I don't think there are any. What a horrific band

I read them all so I don't miss the opportunity to make a snide remark

Nah but seriously, there's sometimes cool discussions over bands I don't care for

My Spotify investigation tells me they were certainly better when they went whole hog with the whole SHUT UP MOM thing on the earlier albums. More snotty, more childish and probably better for a live audience as well.

Love that the crossover thrash band also called Slipknot have plays on Spotify just from being there as well, haha

judging by the pic on facebook from Greece today, they are playing in the red jumpsuits with their original masks on. This could be in way of a tribute?

Indeed. I imagine we will be getting the classic look in the UK also.
