the Hetfield-isms were in full flow on Friday night

the "Absolutely!" & "Show Me!" were my personal favorites, "Do you want heavy?" also raised a smile

Do you feel it? was another one aha. I thought they were amazing. My only concern before that was hearing the same set from 09, but they really surprised me by mixing it up completely. Blackened, Memory Remains and Call of Ktulu were brilliant additions and I think they did very very well.

I got actual goosebumps watching them all on stage playing Am I Evil?

If I'd have known before that I was gonna hear that twice in the day, I wouldnt have been impressed, but it just fit perfectly.

In France they put on an amazing show. Setlist was great as well as the atmosphere. My only dissapointment was the "Big 4 Jam". Only Anthrax and some of the members of Diamond Head were present. Oh well, a week prior I got to see the Big 4 Jame more complete (minus Slayer) in Gelsenkirchen. All in all my 16th Metallica show was amazing as always though.
2011 - 05 May Iron Maiden (Frankfurt, Germany), 18 June Roger Waters The Wall Live (Duesseldorf, Germany), 2 July - Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax (Gelsenkirchen, Germany), 8-9 July Sonisphere France (Amneville)

I'll admit I didn't check many, but that was the first setlist I saw with all 4 (well, 5) bands represented.

I'd imagine harvester meant that anthrax and diamond head joined metallica, it wasn't just the two bands....

Only members of Anthrax and Diamond Head in France. That is why I said I was lucky that we had pretty much all of them in Germany a week prior.

Remember that Megadeth were due to play in Mountain View I think it was the next day for Uproar or Mayhem Festival, whichever one that was.

In Milan Lars got Lombardo on the drums for the jam, Kerry and Gary just walked on stage, drank some beer, threw the cups into the crowd and walked off.

James said that Megadeth and Slayer had to get on to the next show. You could see their tour equipment trucks heading out the side hours before Metallica even took the stage.

It does suck a bit for the fans though. If they're doing the Big 4 stuff and have built up fan expectation that they will get a Big 4 Jam (like has happened on all of the others) then they should work out schedules so that they can do it.

Yes, they may have places to be and that's kinda fine. It's stuff like reading Kerry King saying he didn't bother cos they changed the song. Whatever! He needs to remember that it's the fans that put him where he is. He should forget his gooseberry mood for 5 minutes, play the song and walk off stage. The fans would be none the wiser and would have loved it. To me, that just sounds like a massive middle finger to the fans.

James's voice was terrible. Just downloaded the recording of the gig, it actually hurts to listen to it.
