Other Potential "Big Names"

Postby metalguru85 » Thu Feb 23, 2012 1:03 am

With the "special guest" slot left and maybe two other reasonably high main stage slots over the weekend who do we realistically think will play?

My Guess

Special Guests
Motley Crue
Judas Priest
ZZ Top
Scorpions

I would be happy with any of them

The other two mainstage slots

Skindred
EdGuy
Children of Bodom
Blind Guardian
Slayer

I doubt Judas Priest would be special guests, that would be a carbon copy of Download.

Scorpions are possible, as are Motley Crue.

Skindred won't be main stage. I don't see them being anywhere other than Bohemia.

Slayer will headline Bloodstock.

I highly doubt there's only two main stage bands left.

Also reckon the likes of Devildriver/Coal Chamber, Sixth, Black Stone Cherry and Ministry will get a few lower/bohemia/midnight slots.

Acid Drinkers are possible for Bohemia, Clutch are likely. Enter Shikari are gonna be main.

Englebert von Humpedink is a big name.

You think Skindred will be Bohemia? I agree with Priest, totally forgot about that being the exact way Download done it.

I meant there is two highish spots left on mainstage. I am guessing we still need a few opening acts as well.

Slayer at Bloodstock? That would be intriguing! Would be weird for one of Soni/Download to not have at least one of the big four on the bill. I can't remember the last year that happened.

Well Download has 3 of them this year! Slayer are already doing ATP - no idea if they are exclusive, I doubt it, could have some sort of clause meaning they can't be announced for anywhere else till a certain date though to help boost ATP ticket sales.

Testament are at Bloodstock and not headlining. I can't think of anyone apart from Slayer who would possibly be above them.

I originally thought it would be Ministry, but everything points to Bolt Thrower above Testament and Amon Amarth subbing Behemoth.

As to Soni, I think we could end up with Queensryche under Kiss.

I have no idea how you've managed this. I can't seem to avoid them, I bet if i opened my blind now they'd be outside my window.

Maybe a slight exaggeration there...but it is only a slight one.

Not a chance, they had a huge crowd at Download 2011! Even the crowd for their acoustic set would of packed out Bohemia

I dunno. Everyone seems to have seen them and everyone loves them live. I reckon I just end up going to whichever festival they don't play that year so I would put money on them being at Download....

Going by who was added to T in the Park today, we could share Enter Shikari, Pulled Apart by horses, Skrillex, Frank Turner, Twin Atlantic, Band of Skulls.

I was just about to post this. All those would be Bohemia anyway. Apart from Enter Shikari but i hope not.

Frank Turner and Skindred would be good.

Any chance of Terrorvision - I know they're at D/L but not exclusive surely?

Frank Turner and Skrillex would be mainstage. Skrillex is 3rd from top at TITP and Frank is quite high up too!

Yeah I think so, all very likely.

Twin Atlantic would suit the Sunday with The Blackout, Band of Skulls headlining Bohemia, Enter Shikari under Tim Minchin, Frank Turner under The Darkness, Pulled Apart By Horses in Bohemia.

Skrillex playing Reading.

I'm hoping for Clutch (could play fairly low on saturn), Killswitch Engage (as the special guests) and The offspring.
Although I think we will end up with Skrillex as the special guest with Enter Shakari and Frank Turner taking up other high slots
Oh joy another game of truth or troll

Clutch are likely, but KSE and Offspring probably won't play. No high slots for either and KSE are probably Download exclusive!
