Maybe not as a headliner but Biffy Clyro have hinted on Gigwise at doing a "special" show in the UK next year.

They were the smaller headliner in 2011 and have played fests since, I think they wouldn't be the big booking soni need

I think Metallica, Maiden, Guns N' Roses, RATM, Sabbath, Kiss, Tool, Rush, SOAD all are unlikely for some reason or another for me despite being possibilities. Pearl Jam I'd say are most likely as the big band.

Yeah but it's so easy to throw the name AC/DC around but even more likely for it not to happen than to actually happen. Sabbath is 50/50 I think and PJ just would make sense on gaining downloads loss seems as they didn't book them which caused a bit of a kick up

He said Kiss and Pearl Jam were at Download. He chats gooseberry, but is also just a fan of the festivals so will be saying bands he wants.

That's exactly what you do a lot of the time though! Just name bands. :P Didn't you report that Ginger "all but confirmed Pearl Jam" as a Download headliner?

I think Pearl Jam will headline 'Sonisphere' if that's what it is and it remains like it was, they're also meant to be touring around during that time.

But they're playing a load of massive venues in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, London and Dublin so highly unlikely to headline a major festival a couple of weeks later.

Tool will alegedly have a new album out next year (its been said for pretty much every sonisphere, but it Maynard is apparently in the writing process, so it can't be too much longer). Foo Fighters also have an album out next year.

Personally, i'd love to see a Tool, Foo Fighters, Maiden headliner set, not sure if it would draw in many people and be the "big event" sonisphere are implying though.

I wouldn't get your hopes up man, sticking to timetables for Maynard is like sticking to stage times to Axl Rose

Doesn't Maynard spend his time trying to match up the number of syllables in a line to the Fibonacci sequence and crazy gooseberry like that?

Tool and Pearl Jam headlining Sonisphere would literally be more boring than Cash in the Attic.

think he meant quite

I don't know how I'd feel about Pearl Jam to be honest, I like Ten and V's but they sound like one of those bands that are better on record than live

Ten's great, Backspacer's amazing but their last live album wasn't stellar. I'd see them but I doubt they'd be the best headliner out of the ones we get, if they're booked.

Not removing this from my signature until:

Sonisphere UK 2013 is confirmed: [WELP.]
Headliner announcements made: [NOPE.]
Alter Bridge booked: [NADA.]
Arcane Roots booked: [NEVER.]
Outkast booked: [HAHA, NO.]
