Sonisphere Poland

Postby Lyekka » Wed Jan 27, 2010 1:06 am

I got my confirmation yesterday, and been hunting for Flights and a place to stay since I got it - the prices are now way off what was quoted as the special offer prices:

To make this really easy Sonisphere have teamed up with Lastminute.com to offer some exclusive discounted travel and accommodation deals for people wishing to attend the Poland event. Whether you just want to see the show or fancy making it a two night adventure in one of Europe’s most intriguing cities, a range of cut-price options to suit your budget and location are available below:

3 Star Warsaw hotel & flight packages from just £101!
http://www.lastminute.com/site/travel/gridpage.html?trawlProductId=60361

4 Star Warsaw hotel & flight packages from just £104!
http://www.lastminute.com/site/travel/gridpage.html?trawlProductId=60362

5 Star Warsaw hotel & flight packages from just £120!
http://www.lastminute.com/site/travel/gridpage.html?trawlProductId=60363

So I wondered if anyone had come up with any bargains or found anywhere to beat the current lastminute.com "offer" prices?

dam price increases and VAT changes n such, but I didn't wanna book flights etc till I had confirmation...

I haven't been able to get down the Gloc in a while - kinda busy sharing my time between this delightful (lol) city and somewhere in the-back-of-beyond-of-Kent lately....
and doesn't help when my "friends" don't really like it in there... or cba...

Seems like its time I paid the place a visit tbh... a long overdue 1...

damn straight
it's a rather lovely place and don't understand why they don't like it there :(.

Though the older lot 'putting' me in the fridge around the back (ok, I climbed in there for the lols, hense why the beardy one has affectiontly named me "Fridge boy"). I do love the people there :). Especially when Matt decides to drink to much and has a headbutting competition with his brother.

ok now I see why they might not love the place.

Pretty sure they've always been that way as I looked the first week and they're per person based on 2 sharing so it's a little more expensive. Also note the wednesday flight arrives late afternoon/early evening, I don't know when the concert starts but you may miss some of it going that day - either that or it's a short festival. :(
I can still see the bouncy tatty bojangles, but please don't cure me.

Hi there, I have booked a room at the airport - literally opposite to check out and straight onto plane as I go home the next day
Its about 56 pounds and its a Marriott. I would be happy to share.
my flight is 75 pounds but only because I had some airmiles to pay for half. That is with BA.

Just got off the phone with lastminute.com, turns out all the deals that the Sonisphere site links to are null. Cheapest they do for 2 nights is like £175/person, and thats if you get there at 11pm and leave at 6am the day after the festival.

Yeh, I'm kinda concerned and disappointed at those costs really, I was expecting £100 like it said, and to get there with enough time to actually see the bands. I've also heard something on this forum about "golden circle" tickets? Which apparently means we won't be able to get close to the action either?
All in all I was going to the UK one and buying my ticket on release day anyways so it would have just been a nice bonus. But I'm just going to use the money to go to download for the weekend or something instead. :music-rockon:

there is a hostel in warsaw that is going for about £9 a night.

http://www.hostelbookers.com/property/i ... tyid=38063

it's apparently really close to bus and rail links.

flights with ba from london to warsaw is £138 but you need to stay two nights in order to get the cheaper flight.

i couldn't find any busses or trains from uk to poland.

and yes... i am that obsessive compulsive.

roll on madness and the offspring @ soni 2013!! =D
please use alex's fmc code 1k915233 when booking your ticket. thankies :D

So is Warsaw the name of the airport we have to go to?

That hostel looks quite nice. When you said hostel I automatically thought it'd be somewhere scummy.
