Sabaton

Postby triaxis » Wed May 05, 2010 4:51 pm

Sabaton will be bringing their powerhouse of epic battle-infused metal to the green hills of Knebworth this year. Between May 2008 and December 2009 Sabaton have managed to perform over 160 shows in more than 20 countries, received honourable citizenships/titles from the Polish government, toured with Hammerfall and Dragonforce, and been honoured with the opportunity to play a headline show in front of 10,000 fans on the battlefield near Wizna where the battle they sing about in the song 40:1 took place exactly 70 years earlier. Bassist Pär Sundström says:

“HELL frakk YES!!! SABATON is going to play Sonisphere UK this year! This is a great opportunity for us as the UK remained a dark spot on the touring plans in the past – but now everything’s gonna be different! We’re set to kick ass and conquer!!! Aside from that it’s just amazingly insane to share the stage with bands like Iron Maiden, Rammstein and Motley Crüe! Who would have thought of this ten years back?! Don’t miss out – it’s gonna be an overwhelming experience! For ALL of us!!!”

I love these - fantastic fun live

Who else is going to be watching them?

I hope their new album's good, because the other one i have was painfully average.
Wouldn't mind seeing them, but I can think of quite a lot of better Power metal bands to add.

Saw them supporting DragonForce on their most recent tour, and they were absolutely amazing, so will definitely be watching them at sonisphere. Looking forward to the new album this month too :D
I just hope they don't run onto the stage for the act after them like they did for DragonForce when they played TTFATF, I got a full-on view of the singer's ass, not a pleasant sight

sadly i didn't get to see them on this tour since they decided to tour all the remote parts of Britain. Sabaton will be epic! Can't wait for them!

ah, yes that was a really overlong album, dont worry their later ones are better - especially try the song 40:1 epic!

Yeah, for some reason I can't see Slayer letting Sabaton survive if they try it...xD

especially try the song 40:1 epic!

I'm hoping on them playing 40:1, partly because it's epic, and partly because it's one of my mates favourite songs and he can't come because he's in Malta
The Art of War is a brilliant album, and from listening to the clips theyve released of Coat of Arms it's gonna be just as good :D

yeah, art of war is great 40:1 is probably my favourite of their songs, the new stuff should be just as good if not better!

he can't come because he's in Malta

unlucky! hahaha, most of my mates are annoyed that i'm seeing the last show of FFAF's guitarist

The Art of War is their best album in my view - Ghost Division is a corker of a track too, opened their Hammerfest show with it

yeah, it's gonna be epic, will be much less easier to miss as well because its on the second stage so i won't have to treck over to Bohemia and perhaps miss main-stage acts

The album you're thinking of is Primo Victoria - which is one of my fave albums from this band, as well as Art of War! Into the Fire, Wolfpack, Panzer Battalion, Primo Victoria, Metal Machine: cracking tunes. I've actually just booked tickets with my mate to see these guys with Alestorm in Camden, but am well chuffed they're playing at Soni too!! ^^
