Yes, because they were a bastion of originality to start with...

(Nothing against the band, but they have just traded one scene for another. They'll do so again at some point in the future,i'd imagine. They've got quite good commercial sense.)
Obligatory festival list:
Ozzfest 98, 01, 02
Reading 98, 99, 06
Big Day Out 99
Download 03, 04
V 03
Bloodstock 08, 09
Hammerfest 09
Guilfest 09
Sonisphere 09, 10
Hard Rock Hell 09

Good commercial sense? Anyone could see that you could make more money by compromising and moving your sound with trends. I think its a fairly shameful thing to do personally.

THat's what I was saying. Papa Roach, like quite a few bands, have changed to fit whichever scene is popular. I'm not a huge fan of bands that do it, but it does show a certain commercial awareness.

(See also: Machine head circa 2000-ish. Tracksuits and spiky blonde hair. Oh dear.)

That's exactly what I said earlier on in this thread? Papa Roach are hard rock? Yeah right  If you like their newer stuff that's cool, but it IS emo so call it what it is :P Infest on the other hand was an epic album.

They'll always be lightweight nu-metallers to me. They're a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, I have to admit. I saw them touring Infest and was pleasantly surprised.

having said that, I do really like some of their stuff and I don't care what they look like, I just wish they'd do blood brothers!

Just I prefer Born With Nothing. Also didn't get there early enough to get a decent spot in the front of the crowd :( So I heard the first two songs (which were two I really liked) trying to navigate my way through a wall of completely static people. Was gutted!! But I enjoyed it still.

My phone died on Friday :'( Missed loads of people, sorry!

I saw about two seconds of them I think, not sure where I was before them though, oh well.
They remain firmly cemented as one of my all time favourite bands!
