Megadeth and Testament for final two slots

Postby bloodandthunder » Mon Jun 21, 2010 7:24 pm

This makes sense. Both are touring with Slayer at the time and both are free over these dates. Testament are yet to announce a UK festival this year and could definitely fill a low-ish slot on Saturn. Megadeth, on the other hand, are massively sought after and could fill the final Apollo slot. Anyone agree?

Magdeth have been reported to be VERY boring lately. So I wouldn't want them.

Report confirmed, they were the poorest of the lot at Warsaw. Played fine, but didn't engage the crowd at all. It was just like someone had put the album on really loud.

Yeah, saw Megadeth at Download and I was very disappointed. Would be willing to give them a second chance, though :)

And as for Testament - not what I'd personally choose, but would defo watch!

EDIT: Slash for a mainstage slot instead of Megadeth? Him and Myles Kennedy went down really well at Download.

I think Testament are big enough to play somewhere on Saturn, and my God I hope they are announced.

While I do really want Killswitch to take one of the last slots these would be an awesome addition, always wanted to see both bands.

I'd give Testament a listen to see what they are like.

Megadeth. Listened to some of their stuff. Enough to know a good few songs (mainly from ust In Peace) and was really looking forward to them at Downlad. Must say, I enjoyed Halestorm more (not just because of Lzzy Hale ) but they had an awesome presence, good music and worked the crowd. Sans great music, Megadeth did not have this.

Maybe next year, and a kick up the backside, may be enough to get the bad taste of this performance out of my mouth.

Testament are a little more harsh vocalled than most of the other popular thrash metal bands..which is why I prefer them I guess.

Would love them to be at Sonisphere!

Unless they get announced for Soni, I'll wait til after festival season to listen to them. Got far too much in the way of new bands lately to listen to. I don't have the time for all of this new music

YES and YES !!! doubt it will happen though because it would make me extremely happy, and most recent announcments have had a habbit of disapointing me  .. for the most part anyway, we do have one epic festival as it stands :music-headbanger:
