Thanks. On the ramblin man site they say the camping is a few minutes ramble from the festival...They also say they have a campsite director this year, implying there was trouble / chaos last year.

As for download, I know all festivals hype announcements but they keep going on about this one and posting on twitter / Facebook and WRITING IN CAPS. Makes me think something big is happening. I guess all this waiting for soni has made me constantly read too much into stuff

That's what we thought about DL. Seems they are being over enthusiastic about it

My guess is second stage headliners plus they're announcing WWE NXT for 2016. Will keep the kids/people who like oiled-up men in spandex pants pretend-fighting happy.

On top of what Koala said the only other big thing I've heard going round is the rumour that Max and Igor Cavalera are apprantly doing Roots in full, I don't have any sources so don't even know if it's happening I've just heard it discussed. Could be anything, knowing DL it'll be 10 bands that everyone likes but has seen plenty of times before then 20 obscure bands people have only heard the name of, and that apparently is BIG ENOUGH FOR THIS KINDA HYPE

If it isn't Progress then it's not worth it really.

Told you they would hype anything even if it's not that special.

I find it funny looking through that line up and thinking "well soni did it first"

Mixed line up for me, quite a few bands I would like to see, but I know it's not worth it as they'll get half an hour and probably very poor sound on the day

Yeah! They did a bit!
Few bands that are good for me though but nothing special at all.

the biggest part of the lineup was announcing the main stage will once again have it's name changed.

I think the biggest part of the announcement was Jane's Addiciton. That is a massive massive announcement. I am excited.

Soni still ignoring us??? Oh ffs it's borderline rude now!

The brand is suffering damage every week that goes by without making some kind of an announcement!

Please just for the love of god put us out of our misery!

Instead of clashing with Jane's Addiction, Maiden are now clashing with the 30 minutes it will take for everyone to shuffle from second stage to main after watching Jane's Addiction.

reply to a tweet says it's probably not going ahead. Probably?!?! When will you know for sure then? Or are you just gonna do the decent thing and officially tell people it's not on?

Would love to see Maiden and Jane's Addiction but it will be virtually impossible to enjoy both without missing a big chunk of either set to avoid the mass transit between stages.

Great attitude from them! I get that they must be pissed off as no doubt they are as disappointed as us punters, but "probably" that just sounds petulant & gives the wrong impression to us loyal Soni goers that tbh it's not really that important

If Maiden and Jane's had clashed, I would have picked Jane's Addiction without much heartache, so I'll be happy to watch their whole set, from down the front, and then whatever happens with Maiden after that is a bonus. I love Maiden, but I've seen them a couple of times in the past few years, and Jane's Addiction are one of those extra special bookings. TBH, I would have been fine if they totally clashed - Jane's would be an ace way to end the weekend, moreso then watching Maiden from - inevitably - the very back of the field.

The problems for me with Download are no matter how many good bands there are at Download, there's always a frakking clash, or the sound quality is gooseberry or they end up with a short set. If there's no bands you want to watch it's a mile back to camp. Everything is designed to keep you in the arena and keep you spending. Sonisphere gets a lot of gooseberry for organisation, but Download organisers really couldn't give a gooseberry about the customers as long as they're spending. It would take a ridiculously good lineup to get me back there.

Hypothetically it means they have some kind of offer out to some band(s) who would ensure it went ahead but who are almost certainly going to say no. So they've not said it's off on the remote chance the bands say yes.

Realistically once Christmas came and went, there was little chance of any news being good.

It's a response at least which is what most on here were looking for even if it was a "maybe" or "working on it". The response is exactly why they don't reply often when there's no news - people whinge at silence saying even a 'working on it' response is better than being ignored then when they give us one there's complaints that it's too vague or pointless info or not what they wanted to hear etc...

As hash pipe says it's not 100% ruled out as they must still have offers out to big acts which may mean running something Sonisphere related, and they feel theres no point in them saying its off when they could potentially score a big gig with a big act.

At this stage its 99.99% off though I imagine, and if they do run something it'll be a standalone knebworth gig with at most Sonisphere branding as it's too late to put a weekend festival together imo.
