No Sky Arts Higlights

Postby Gnarkill » Wed Jul 09, 2014 1:47 pm

Confirmed on facebook, reckon pro shoots will be up on youtube? There did seem to be a lot of recording, unless that was only for the screens :(

Good stuff, much rather have stuff on Youtube than a channel I can't watch.

Youtube proshoots trump Sky Arts makeshift coverage.
If only we could get all the bands recorded sets up on YT in a reasonable time. At the moment if I search for Sonisphere 2014 I'm seeeing loads and loads of crappy quality Babymetal vids, like some kind of marketing carpet bombing.

Best thing with the Sky arts show is that all the individual songs ended up on Youtube. As long as theres a decent selection of bands that have proshot stuff put up it'll be ok, not sure if it will tho.

Guess it will be down to individual bands if they want to release the footage in some form then. Not surprised Sky Arts aren't bothering. They've dropped from about 10 or so festivals to 2 or 3 which is a shame.

This seems to speak otherwise. I'm glad, the highlights always give us a chance to see bands that normally wouldn't release footage themselves and they are always great to look back at.

I'm assuming whatever programming there is wouldn't be announced until after the scuzz interview program on at the weekend anyhows.

Nice to see it will be on Sky Arts, hopefully not hosted by Kylie Olsson.

Hopefully they mix the sound properly this time unlike the Download highlights, everything sounded so quiet and lifeless

Sky Arts were on top form with the IOW highlights. Even Biffy whose sound was trite live sounded great on TV.

Looking forward to whatever highlights crop up. Seems mad to film so much purely to show on the screens on the day!

Just to confirm, there will be highlights on Sky Arts. I messaged Sonisphere on Twitter and I got a reply saying that it will happen.

Apparently there was a mix up with Sonisphere according to the twitter page so there's now no Sky Arts coverage

As long as it's not like their 2010 coverage. an hour of interviews with about 5 mins of actual live footage.

One thing that Hellfest did that was totally fantastic was to stream loads of the gigs live and then have them available to view on their website. I mean, they did that for free which is amazing, but I'd happily pay a fiver or something to be able to watch the videos of bands playing at Sonisphere.

Scuzz does Sonisphere - what a frakking waste of 2 hours of my life!

I love Sophie K but Christ 2 hours without any Maiden, Metallica or Prodigy - waste of a programme and did she have to ask the artistes the same frakking question in every interview!!!!

Have to agree with you, I fast forwarded it in the hope it would contain live footage but it's just 2 hours of interviews like 2010 :( I think this kind of programme would be better as a series of youtube videos really, 2 hours of the same questions is really dull.

Seems like there is a highlights show again... from a facebook post yesterday "Still editing our highlights programme and to watch out for announcement on that."

So we've gone from no sky arts -> there is a sky arts -> sorry there is no sky arts -> shitty scuzz thing -> we are still doing highlights.. seriously wtf haha.

Scuzz's coverage of the metal hammer awards was gooseberry as well

I'm confused as to how that channel stays open - it's awful
