So far I've bought my _______________ for Sonisphere

Postby lolatheminxx » Tue Apr 15, 2014 3:20 pm

In an effort to make it seem closer and to ramp some excitement:

So far I've bought my ticket, rucksack and tent for Sonisphere. I've also paid for my locker. All I actually need now is to pay for my flights and get booze and food when I land, which is pretty far above my usual level of organisation!

What have you bought so far and what do you need to buy before July?

Some of my alcohol and my boardie shirt. I haven't used my rucksack or tent since 2011 so hopefully they haven't decayed or something. I haven't even bought my ticket yet so I need to get my priorities sorted

By the way - for folks thinking about buying their own trackway, you only need two pieces. You lay one down, move onto it, put the other one in front, pick up the one behind you,, lay that down, and so on. Like Wil E Coyote setting out traintrack on an out of control locomotive.

Thats right - and when did anything ever go wrong for Wil E Coyote?

I like the WileECoyote metaphor!

Would like to get my flights sorted out right but they are gonna be pricey.... urgh. Expected but urgh all the same! If I get stuck I could always do the Eurolines..... Does anyone remember me bitching about that one in 2010/2011?

Wireless phone charger? Will be far cheaper than relying on the charge booths.

I just bring two spare batteries for my phone, have it on airplane mode most of the time and it lasts from Thursday to Monday.

That's fine for those of you with some poncy phone that lets you swap out a battery. Us iPhone users can't be trusted with such delicate surgery and need another solution.

A great plan, but because you can't turn an iPhone 'off', all that will happen is that by day 3, the third iPhone you were planning on using will be flat anyway, just from being on standby for 3 days. It's not a great piece of equipment. In fact, it's a complete piece of sh!t and if it was a pet or a child I would have it put down.

Bus pass

If I need to bring anything else I'll get it on the way to Knebworth Friday lunchtime.

I have most of my stuff, tent etc. from previous years, just upgraded some bits and pieces, so new this year;

Double Camp Bed (No more airbeds that deflate in the night, yay, and no creaking bones trying to get up in the morning)
Wardrobe (for hanging up wet kit that ends up piled in the corner and not drying)
Moon Chairs (so jealous of people that had these last year, you can curl up in them after a hard day)
New lights for inside tent
Boardie T-Shirt
Ticket (got these the day they were released)

Still to get
New Tent Carpet
Booze

I just hope the extra bits will fit in the car, will have to do a test run, in case a roof box is needed! DL / Soni here we come!!!!! 8-)

Does tent carpet not get destroyed with damp/mud? I've always wondered.

Far cheaper and easier to take a handheld battery pack that can add the only iPhone I can afford 60 more hours of juice, really.

I really wish I had this level of enthusiasm for things like this.

I haven't even got my ticket yet, for no other reason than I haven't got round to doing it.
