With Download announcing tomorrow, I'm not expecting one for Sonisphere. I think we'll get one the following week instead

Would fit in with 2011's fortnightly announcements

I'm hoping for some curveballs like, I dunno, Madness? I was trying to think of some unusual acts that would be welcomed but I just kept thinking of ridiculous things like Howard Shore... I'm gonna stick to begging for Weezer.

I'd rather have 3oh!3

Hoping we also get some female fronted bands this year. Maybe some Halestorm, Anavae, or Pretty Reckless

Add to that Paramore Delain and Within Temptation

Lovely, guess with DL announcing today, we won't have it immediately, maybe end of week/somepoint next week?

The two week theory would point to next Monday but maybe the curveball is that they do it in 3 weeks

Sometime from next Monday would make sense. Going by previous years anyway.

Weezer have just been announced for Firefly Festival in the US which is in late June, hopefully this makes them more likely for Soni

Not sure, shows their touring this summer but obviously being in the US would usually make me think it's unlikely...but Weezer are so difficult to predict, they have a habit of doing short and sporadic tours here and there, so I wouldn't put it past them to do some US festivals then a few EU ones close together. although untill an EU date is announced, I wouldn't bet on them.

Surely playing in the US late June makes them less likely?

Doesn't make them any more or less likely, they could continue their US tour through Sonisphere or could mark the end of the US and start of a European tour. All we know is that they are a touring entity next year.

As much as I love Weezer. I want subs that haven't played before. Feel I'm going to be disappointed.

Weezer haven't done too much since 2011 and even then they were on the downslide; surely it's not unreasonable they would play 3rd now?

Jack Johnson is headlining that festival and is doing a full Euro tour starting in July, same goes for Imagine Dragons and Arctic Monkeys, so it's not unrealistic for Weezer to hit Europe in July, I believe that's what they did last time they played Sonisphere.

So, what seems to be another pretty poor announcement from download, when/what news are we expecting from sonisphere now?

One thing I should say, however (so I avoid upsetting any of the little download fans in the audience) whilst the download line up is absolutely atrocious for me personally, I do quite like the fact that they are going for a whole different genre. Sonisphere and Download are actually making an effort to differentiate themselves this year, which is nice. People going to one festival are less likely to be too upset about not getting to see certain bands at the other. Which is nice.

I am pretty lost though, even the bloodstock line up isn't too great for me at the moment :(.

I'd give it time before saying that, plenty of time for soni to book generic deathcore bands :P
