Those days. Come on man!

I was a bit worried that it might pass close to Stevenage that weekend which would have been a bloody nightmare for traffic! Fortunately it doesn't.

Genuinely don't know and may sound stupid but when you say "Le Tour" you don't mean the Tour de France do you? What's that doing in Cambridge? What else is the same weekend as soni? I didn't know all this was happening soni weekend! I'm dreading the traffic already :?

I do. Le grand départ often takes place outside of France, basically places can bid for it and this year Yorkshire won so the first few stages are in the UK. And Cambridge is a Start/Finish point so yeah gonna be awful traffic wise.

Mastodon aren't exactly great live but they're good on record, I'll most likely be watching them.

This announcement (6th Jan) is pretty good for me:
-Wanted to have seen Slayer for over 3 years so will be more likely to go in 2014. I know a good chunk of their material.
-Alice In Chains are a band I know little about but I do seem to really love they're style, Rooster is such a great song and they're growing on me. I saw them -at Download last year but wasn't really a fan so hopefully I will get to Soni and see them.
-Mastodon also saw at Download last year not too fussed about seeing them.
-Ghost and Gojira are bands highly rated by Metal Hammer so will check out.
-Airbourne I'm not overly fussed about seeing.

I think with the strength of the headliners this announcement and another strong announcement I shall be going to Sonisphere as I seemed to enjoy the vibe of it when I went in 2011. Plus Download clashes with exams and Soni won't (quite frankly Sonisphere's line-up seems like it'll be a lot better)
Glastonbury - Everyone since 1998
Reading - 2010 2011 2012 2013
Download - 2012 2013
Sonisphere - 2011

I like AiC but they've come so close to putting me to sleep both times at soni. Not sure if I'll give them another go or not.

Mastodon...men I have seen them several times now, but happy to see them again
Slayer.... Oh well... It is Slayer
Airborne they are great live and very good fun
AiC , the last album is pretty decent so happy to have them
Gojira!!!!!! INMENSE!

Happy with this and also I would imagine that these are kind of mid day ( as in 5/6 pm) kind of bands, so this might mean bigger bands later on and I am sold already. Shame Alter bridge is a Download though.

Karnivool = 2/10 Caught them at Download, Boooring.
Mastodon = 4/10 Seen them before, very 50/50 live.
Slayer = 8/10 Band of the announcement for me, would always jump at the oppurtunity to see them.
Airbourne = 7/10 Decided to see themn on a whim again at download and was blown away. Always decent live.
AIC= 5/10 Seen them at Soni previously and decided to miss them at download last year. Depends on who else would be on.
Gojira = 7/10 Seen before but not at a festival. Would like to see them again.
Ghost= 7/10 Seen them before but would like to see them again. Be interesting if they are in Bohemia or not.

Apart from the Prodigy I have seen all the bands playing at least once. Not the best announcement but could have been alot worse. Going to hold of on buying a ticket though.

I'm probably gonna end up going anyway, but I'm gonna hold off buying them too. The optimist in me says that they're announcing solid, reliable but uninspiring (to me) bands first to guarantee ticket sales. Yeah, I know that's what everyone said about Metallica and Iron Maiden. Anyway, for the next announcement I'm hoping there'll be more... I dunno, "energetic" bands like Cancer Bats or Kvelertak. Hopefully The Sugarhill Gang too ;)
Oh, and Against Me.

They opened Apollo as someone pulled out last minute, so they were still seen as a Bohemia band. Personally I think they should headline or be near top Bohemia bill, they didn't work at all on the second stage at Download.

I'd love Kverlertak to be booked. Only seen em once, at Leeds fest, for an entire 25 minutes. And the cancer Bats as well, obviously, cos they're awesome

Do you think they are going to start doing announcements every 2 weeks again? Or is it going to be hyped announcements whenever?

Doesn't it say they were going to announce 2 special guests along with others shortly on the front page of the site?

Anyone's guess as to how you define shortly..
