I watched them at download and thought that they were excellent. They were pretty gooseberry at reading 08 but they've been amazing every other time I've seen them

I saw Qotsa at DL and was so bored, I felt I was watching them jam than perform. They have some amazing tunes but their performance felt so underwhelming for a subheadliner

I thought QOTSA at Download was the best I've seen them personally. Never rated em live before, but thought they were good this time.

QOTSA were excellent at Wembley recently - one of my best gigs this year, so i'd be pleased if they play Sonisphere but i reckon they'll probably do R/L or IOW instead.

Wheezer are one of my all time Sonisphere highlights and how could you not enjoy Cheese? His version of 'r@pe me' is a total classic!!

I really enjoy the fun party bands like Cheese .... So Chas and Dave would be an excellent booking for that slot. Tbh i thought Cheese was better than Bill Bailey - he's usually pretty good but i thought he was rubbish at Sonisphere, though i gather they had problems with their monitors so couldn't hear what they were saying or playing.

I'm really chuffed that it's going ahead. I honestrly and truly believed after the 2012 debacle that Sonisphere would be finished, but it's back baby. Not entirely sure how it's going to turn out, and I'm trying not to get too excited considering it was going ahead before and then was cancelled, but all signs point to yes in terms of lineup.

I for one am pleased to welcome the mighty Sonisphere back. I hope it can stay for more then three years this time!

Now I don't really care much for football these days - that includes FIFA World Cup 'roll around on the floor at every opportunity bent ref why can't England ever win anything fosters carling lets all punch foreign cars' football BUT the world cup 1/4 finals take place on the Fri/Sat of Sonisphere 2014 and I'm sure quite a few people will be interested, especially if England are involved.

Brazil is about 2 or 3 hours behind UK time so I wonder if Soni are planning to show these games on a big screen somewhere or will it be a case of 'why would you go to a music festival to watch football'? .... which I would completely understand.

yeah iow did it in 08 aswell for the euros? i think it will have been, was actually a pretty nice place to relax with a beer when you didnt like what was on the stage

I'd imagine if England make the quarter finals (lol) it'll be on a big screen somewhere, like Download did for one of the group games. They also showed an England qualifier in the tent one year, on the Wednesday night.

If it's Germany vs Spain, or something like that, they're unlikely to show it.

Yeah it is. I was going to try and persuade one of my friends to go to Cambridge or London to see it, but Iron Maiden are more important. As it stands I could end up staying with the same friend in Birmingham for a few days after Sonisphere to watch the early stages. I think the British Grand Prix is that weekend and some of Wimbledon as well.

I think the thing I will be laughing the most at is hopefully the firing or public backlash against Greg Dyke. Making statements like how he expects us to win in 2020 and 2024 but then gives us nothing additional to work with, then goes and does the cut throat gesture; what a **** that deserves to be fired.
