Which isnt really fair though imo. If they hike 1 price by that much they should hike all the prices.

They shouldn't hike any of the ticket prices.

I expect normal tickets to have gone up quite a bit TBH. What were they in 2011, £190? Take into account the 2 years of price rises we missed out on, that would increase it to £210-£230. I still think it might be a bit more than that though.

They will probably still make a loss, but if they rise prices a bit then they can afford to make it a comeback that's worth coming back to. And that's much better than the alternative...

Either that or they've only got a small number of RR tickets I suppose. Or a bit of both

We did the Yurts in RR in 2011, but they dont seem to be there this time - The rest are all too pricey for me, so will prob just get day tickets and forgo the camping.

Looks like geodomes and tipis and those weird dice-cube things instead of Yurts this time.

I only ever do the self-tent thing, but having the car is invaluable - there's only so much beer you can carry
Sonisphere is the most magical time of the year! There will be beer, excellent sounds, and happiness all round :music-deathmetal: Share the magic! 1k912130

I still think Sonisphere's regular camping is good enough for that, I can happily walk to and from the car park once or twice if needs be. I know not everyone is able to but yeah. Much better than the walk to and from my car at Download which I'm pretty sure was about the same distance as walking from my tent to the Stevenage Tesco at Sonisphere.

Metallica announced for Rock Werchter Thursday, which shares the same weekend as Sonisphere and is only in Belgium. It's-a-coming!

Posted in the other thread. Apparently from Ticket Factory website....

"Sonisphere tickets are on sale Monday 5:30pm!!

Sonisphere returns to make history with Iron Maiden & Metallica headlining together for the first time ever in the UK

CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF ROCK AT KNEBWORTH

Iron Maiden and Metallica, the two biggest metal bands on the planet, will make history this summer when they co-headline the Sonisphere Festival in Knebworth, the very first time both bands have appeared together on a British bill, and the ONLY CONCERTS EITHER BAND WILL PLAY IN THE UK IN 2014.

Both Metallica and Iron Maiden headlined their first ever Knebworth concerts under the Sonisphere banner and now these giants of the world stage return together to fly the Sonisphere flag once more; bigger and bolder than ever before. For the first time ever fans will have the chance to see both bands come together to head up what will surely make for one of the most historic festival bills in heavy rock music. "

My feeling exactly. Someone posted it on the DL forums. Could be a troll post. Nothing on Ticket Factory now though

You can't currently get onto the Sonisphere 2014 page on the Ticket Factory website, it'd seem. I dunno, as likely as Maiden and Metallica is right now I'm not taking that as gospel.

I had a dream last night that Iron Maiden and Metallica were announced. I know that's pretty obvious right now but I still feel like Mystic Meg.

The price rises of the RR packages aren't relative to the rises of normal tickets. I'd be very surprised if Sonisphere tickets are more expensive than Download's.

I think if they have got the headliners we expect them to have, and they follow previous years examples, then we can expect the tickets to be the same or less than DL. If they can get them even £5 - £10 cheaper than DL then it will only help further the idea that they are hitting back into the market hard this year with a "look at use, were back and are bigger, better and cheaper" attitude.
