I would be amazed if AC/DC headline next year. Sadly I can't see it happening.

I think there's one headliner that's gonna be at most of the Soni dates next year, and it isn't Maiden. France still have one headliner to announce (unless Maiden are headlining twice), Spain I'd imagine are holding off until another band is announced, as if Maiden were there they'd have announced with France and Italy.

I think AC/DC or Sabbath are going to do Soni UK, France, Finland and Spain.

It's not as simple as that, there could easily be more than one band.

Spain is meant to have 2 legs next year, that could be 2 1-2 dayers, with the same headliners or even different one's. Gut instinct says Kiss will be one of the headliners.

Poland was rumoured to have Pearl Jam, but I think that's out the window now. I would guess at Slipknot or SOAD.

Finland could have a native band headlining again, like they did with HIM one year. Judging by tour dates, this could very easily be Nightwish who are absolutely huge in Finland.

Soni France won't have 2 huge headliners in Maiden and AC/DC/Sabbath and I doubt we will ever see Ozzy/Sabbath and Maiden on the same lineup again.

Judging by the other bands playing Soni France, my guess is that System of a Down will take the remaining headlining slot there.

I dunno if there WILL be a Poland date this year. There's even less assurance on that than the English date. In hindsight, I should have asked about European dates at the Festival Conference.

Looking at maintenance mode on the Spain site only mentions one date. There's certainly nothing to suggest a second one is happening that I know of.

I could see Sabbath/Maiden doing different days at Soni France but yeah, it's a big ask for it to have both of them.

And Nightwish are elsewhere on the Finland day, so they won't be at that festival unless they play early then scoot halfway up the country and play the date they'be already got.

Stuart Galbraith gave an interview to Kerrang radio in which he said they were working on Sonisphere Madrid and Barcelona. That's where the 2 leg idea has come from for Sonisphere Spain, whether that has been interpreted wrong, I don't know, but he was talking about how popular it was.

Nightwish was just an example, that it may not necessarily be a band doing all the remaining legs and could simply be a different band per Country.

My guess for UK is Kiss, SOAD and Black Sabbath.

By no means a best case scenario but could be worse.

I'll go with Sabbath, Linkin Park and Tool or PJ, though.

Linkin Park, Tool and Sabbath would do me perfectly! I'd take that all day and just seeing them would get me a weekend ticket :D

I can't see KISS being back at Soni UK at all after last year, it's a big risk for them to take.

I don't know about ever but next year would be a risk unless they got something like Sabbath, Linkin Park and Kiss but I could see them playing at somepoint as I can see FNM playing again.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about....

I do. He stole a sizable amount of money from a few of the DLFF regulars a while back and then disappeared off the face of the earth. Didn't think he was still around...

Never knew that.....

I'd love a Sabbath/Placebo combo. I'm distinctly meh towards Skid Row but their debut album is great and Bach is a fantastic frontman live.

Tool, Linkin Park/Paramore/Blink, Sabbath would be alright. I'm not a fan of the bands on the saturday but they would bring in ticket sales which is what soni need this time round so I'll let it slide ;)

Nowhere from the last 6 months. People are just coming to the conclusion that Sonisphere needs a colossal headliner next year to return with.

I think they said in an interview that they want to play some festivals in Europe this summer, and presumably the easiest and most cost effective way for them to do that is to sign up to Sonisphere.

Metalicbear, booking Kiss for anything is a colossally stupid idea.
