Overall I was pretty disappointed with the merchandise. I didn't actually go to any of the stalls to buy, so can't comment on merch selling out early, but the Soni t-shirts themselves were pretty dry, and as mentioned before, some had the wrong lineup on, and the prices were way too high (although to be fair they're high at all festivals).

Skiba wrote:I really like the FMC t-shirt, I'm wearing one at the moment! I like the way it's exclusive, even though by the sounds of it there weren't many normal Sonisphere t-shirts.

Before the festival, I was considering finding some silver FMC people and asking to buy their t-shirt off them, but the actual FMC t-shirt used was pretty disappointing imo. The design wasn't the same as originally advertised (the font/logo was the thing that I didn't like on the actual t-shirts, would have preferred the one below, as shown in the FMC email), and didn't have the lineup on the back.

If anyone has a higher-res version of the above picture, can you let me know as I'm considering having my own version printed with the lineup on the back.

sold out of soniphere uk t-shirts too quickly and the hoodie should have had the lineup on the back for £40,i only got an LP t-shirt which i'm quite happy with :D
also agree with the point about the c**t merch being out in open display, not very family friendly

We were at the FIRST Sonisphere gig in Holland and the Merch wasn't much better there either, so it wasn't a case of them selling out of stuff. They had nothing smaller than a medium in anything (for my kids) plus the prices in Holland were 20 Euros and at Knebworth was £20 so you were overcharged by almost £4 per shirt.

merch sold out WAY too early, imo there should have been merch available from every band, including jackson guitars and jagermeister (yes i'm aware of the jager merch, but that sold out too, and to my knowledge it was only a bandana).
i couldn't find a bfmv shirt, airbourne shirt, anthrax shirt or a machine head shirt anywhere.(again with machine head, i'm aware of the issues but they could have put them up on sunday evening/monday morning after mh's set.) overall, uite crap really :/

also other sonisphere shirt's would hav been nice, not just the alien hand/planet orientated ones. not everybody likes the space theme after all

On the Friday i bought a Soni shirt because they were only selling them and headliners and subheadliners, but then on the Sunday i saw loads of new merch like Airbourne and Bullet, which i would have rather spent my £20 on (The Soni shirt is good though ;) ) And i think the stuff was sold at reasonable prices.

Oh well guess we'll have to get over it, despite it being for official festival shirts at the first Soni festival in the UK, with the updated line-up on the back and all, and seeing as most shirts at gigs cost between £15-20 for mainstream and major metal bands anyway

Asked Friday about the UK line up shirts, got told to come back Saturday, then got told Sunday, by the time I asked Sunday they were all sold out.
Definately needed more of those, and they should really get them put up on the website for sale for those people that missed out on getting on over the weekend.

Did no one buy a keyring???? OMG I absolutely LOVE my keyring!!!!!  It weighs a tonne and i cant believe that it in itself wasnt a health and safety risk as i believe without a doubt, hand on my heart that you would kill someone dead if you swung it at their head!!! I also have a problem that its going to cause problems with my car as its so heavy it cant be good for the starter motor!

As for the t-shirts - i agree i would have bought a girls one if it had the lineup on the back but i have my 1 of the 83 T anyway so i dont need to worry about it! Yaay to OZO one last time :) £13.50 including postage and a donation to charity! could you go wrong?

tbh i thought it was a total disgrace that they sold out

i couldnt care less about the design i just wanted a T with the line up to THIS festival on the back... not one to finland or one with a bunch of bands that didnt even play

THIS ONE

and i couldnt get it, it sucked so we all bought knockoffs from a guy walking around the fest...

Ill still get one from the online store when i have the cash but i was really disappointed with that Ive been to fests all over, in this country and others and have never had trouble getting hold of an official T before

Not much really to say on this. There were enough stands around the arena and such to find easily, the prices were the standard you'd expect. I do think they could have done with a few more Sonisphere UK event Tees as they sold out. Other than that, Merch was fine ;)

Because of the price I've decided to take my £20 home and buy 2 t-shirts online for the same price, same bands as I would have got, mind you, I wouldn't have even been able to get an avenged one. Sold out way too early!

Maybe you haven't been going to enough gigs, every large band I've been to see and every festival I've been to merch has been the same or a very similar price. £20 is average, £25 tops, £15 min I'd say

Yeah I full expected the Soni tops to cost £20, although I will say that I was surprised that the girls vest tops with only the logo on the front were being sold for that amount too.

If I have any complaints it would be the same as other people, they sold out way too quickly. Oh and also it would have been nice if they had had small sizes, I got a Machine Head shirt on the Sunday when they had just come out and got told they only started at Medium and this medium (I say that because it seems much larger than other mediums I have had) is absolutely huge on me.

It's not so obvious on that picture because it's small (the picture, that is  )
But if you see a bigger picture or the t-shirt, have a look at the crotch area :D

I'm glad they've got a new batch of t-shirts :D I've just brought the one with the line-up (including Machine Head!) which should be coming in a few days.

Only thing which irritated me was that some stalls sold more than others...

So i had to search for the stalls with a certain t shirt i wanted, not just go to the nearest one..

to be honest some of the stalls made sense.

the stall beside the bohemia tent stocked mostly bohemia bands...

the stalls beside the main stages stocked main stage band.

all the staff were really friendly. (i went to the one beside the lockers and beside the main stage).
i never went to the campsite one so can't comment on there.

i bought a hoodie... getting my username put on the back so i can wear it next year and the year after and the year after. (saves me freezing my ass off in my '83 tee. i agree with the woooo!! 101uk).

as a suggestion: 101uk (or tom) is actually opening the '83 tees for everyone this year. (83 will still be different but there will be others designed by him). they are excellent quality and we donate the profits to well-deserving charities!!!!

last years one cost about £15 and like i said. was absolutely brilliant. you might have seen them on the go.
they had "frakk this gooseberry" on the front in red.

thats my feelings on the merchandise.

:)
roll on madness and the offspring @ soni 2013!! =D
