God yes.

I've been checking the torrent sites daily to see if it's been leaked.

The 3 tracks they've already released are frakking brilliant - and its been subject to some really good reviews from some journalists already. I think yet again (as with every Mastodon album) we're in for a treat.

They're doing an excellent job at keeping it from being leaked...I want it now dammit.

The review in Kerrang said it had moved more towards bite sized songs rather than sprawling epics, and is more instantly accessible. I like the sound of that

That is because this isn't a concept album. It has nothing to do with the last 3 albums since they were a trilogy. They are doing something new apparently. It's Terrorizers album of the month so this is also a good sign :)

I'm hoping to hear this stream somewhere first. I've been buying a lot of albums lately and I'm not sure if this will be an album I'd love straight away or would be a grower!

Unless your fantastic girlfriend downloads it when she gets home tonight :romance-inlove:

Also have a look on grooveshark, few tracks on there.

It's a lot more instant and accessible than their last 2 albums..

That said I think it's good so far :D

I think it's absolutely brilliant!

The songs are just put together in such a great way, which gives it it's accessibility I guess and really isn't a bad thing. It's got the same level of 'maturity' I guess for lack of a better word that Crack The Skye had, but seeing as it's less focused on a specific theme/concept and they aren't trying to make 15 minute long epics, they've managed to write a whole bunch of great songs that vary a bit more. Vocals sound really good too imo, some of the best I've heard from them. Dry Bone valley sounds very QOTSA-ish at parts too which is always a good thing in my books :P

To be honest it's probably the best Metal album I've listened to this year so far.

I don't think they'll be at Download. Apparently they let down Copping or something, he made a quip about it on twitter recently...Hopefully they tour soonish

In either case they're not gonna play at Sonisphere next year...well, maybe. Probably not though. I think they're more likely to headline Hammerfest or something.

Best track is Blasteroid in my opinion. :D

As much as I love them, their festival shows from my experience are not the best. I would much rather see them on their own tour.

And, I agree James. Blasteroid is probably my favourite too.

best two times I've ever seen em were supporting Slipknot/Slayer, and in the tent at Download. they dont really work in the open air imo.

but Metal Hammer gave em 10/10 at Soni, so what do I know ;)

Yeah. much better in a tent or indoors. However I'd say they are probably too big for that kind of slot these days

yeah, this was back when the second stage was a tent. Now that both festivals have the second stage open air, they'll never play a tent at a fest again I imagine

Tru dat. But we all know Slipknot will be doing a secret set on the Red Bull Bedroom jam stage next year, so we can't have both!

Sad times, although maybe this new album will sound a bit better live. I remember in 2009 sound issues were much to blame as well...not so sure with 2011 as I missed them. But aye, the insanity of their indoor shows just doesn't seem to happen outdoors.
