The Pepsi and Red Bull headliners are usually decent. Quite surprised the second stage headliners are so bad this year, but oh well.

The Saturday lineup is looking goood. Well apart from Manson. I'm a bit annoyed now rubbish the Friday is.

Day ticket is a no-go for me as I'm right down on the south coast so it's a long trek.

I will wait to see what happens with Soni/Sunday at DL before making a decision.

Saturday=Sunday>Sunday

Though as 50% good is the peak for a day right now, it's not much to shout about. I'd still take it if it was Sonisphere's, though.

dont think i will go this year unless the final headliner is van halen which is highly unlikely

would have watched muse at sonisphere, BSC are the only band i like on the line up so far

KISS, Motley Crue, Slash, and Enter Shikari.

Terrible announcement apart from Slash. Glad that's three shite bands off Sonisphere's potential pallette.

Would watch Muse and Faith No More. The rest can do one though. I might volunteer this year unless the rest of lineup is so good I have to buy a ticket.

Not much for me so far except DAT SATURDAY. Slipknot - Muse - Enter Shikari as my headliners though is pretty tasty. Three bands I would pay to see at their own shows without question.

Poor announcement today. Nothing of credible worth so they bung everything in together.

DL is looking really poor this year. Might go on the Sat for Muse and I wouldn't mind seeing FNM again, but the rest is really meh

Well, there's Clutch, who are one of the best bands on the planet. That amounts to something of credible worth, I would say.

I actually thought it was a pretty good announcment. Clutch, Rise Against, Bodycount and Backyard Babies are all bands I would hugely look forward to. Madball and Lamb of God I'd probably quite enjoy. I'm kind of annoyed - I was half hoping this announcement would kill off any enthusiam I had for Download but there's now a fair few things I'd feel sad about missing out on.

Not such a bad announcement, would watch - Rise Against, Clutch, Godsmack, Billy Idol, Eagles of Death Metal, Body Count, Madball, Dragonforce.

Not bad if you're set on going. But for someone who is already seeing Muse elsewhere, has seen Slipknot in the last five years and therefore has no reason to see them again, and isn't 75 years old so has no reason to be interested about Kiss... there's no strength to it at all.

It's nothing special. Nothing unique. I couldn't care less.

Slipknot have a new album out this year. Hollywood Undead should be awesome, were very good in 2009. Am hoping Papa Roach will be added later, but even if they aren't the announcement of bands such as Lamb of God, Eagles of Death Metal, Parkway Drive and Dragonforce is very good for me. Is Backyard Babies the band where two girls play with gaffer tape on their tatty bojangles?

Thats Butcher Babies. Backyard Babies are kind of like a Swedish Wildhearts.

So what you're saying is if you don't care about the headliners a festival is probably not worth it? If so I agree.

When every other band on the lineup is one I can usually see at festivals or gigs with better atmosphere, better camping, better value for money and better people, that's exactly what I'm saying.

I can go a whole festival without watching a single headliner, hell I've only ever watched two headliners at Sonisphere. But I'm not gonna waste my money on a festival where there is literally no selling point.
