Wasn't this crowd-funded and run by two random people with not very much money at all? How on earth have they got Arch Enemy, Killing Joke and Cradle of Filth?

Yeah i'm not sure how this is happening financially :? I got my ticket for £90(including camping) but think the early tickets have gone and they've gone up to £170(not including camping) which is a bit of a shock.

I'm surprised they haven't had to cancel yet! I hope they they don't because i've got like around 30 bands i want to see.

I appreciate what they are trying to do and that their unique way of getting funding means that they won't be able to book big bands, but looking at the line up that their attempt to appeal to every genre has led them to get cheaper bands/ quantity over quality approach.

I like quite a few bands on that line up but no way in hell would I pay £170 to see them.

Yeah depends how much you like Industrial really i'm a massive fan and see this line-up as equivalent to Sonisphere 2010,2011 which were immense for rock and Metal fans.

It is a Niche market though and with a capacity of 50,000 it doesn't look realistic haha

If I remember that they get their funding from ticket sales first before they book bands then marketing/advertising the festival takes a back seat which doesn't help as it leads to a vicious cycle. If it wasn't for the fact I browse festival forums I would have never heard of this festival which doesn't help a festival that hasn't establish itself yet.

Yeah i agree unless the bands are just playing for small profit just to get noticed! Cradle Of Filth would probably play for cheap to get recognition these days as they've completely slipped of the radar. The UK usually makes or brakes bands so where better to get recognition than right here.

Remember you've got two days left for early bird and to put your deposit down(which is only £10) to get tickets for £70 otherwise it will be £170 for a ticket.

Manson will probably put an effort in as he's headlining! I'll be in the Industrial tent for most of Saturday though so won't see Manson anyway. Fingers crossed there aren't any good Metal bands on Saturday as i'm fully booked for the day as it is

The Cult booked to headline.

This was a small family-funded thing at one point, right?

Happy to see Manson is exclusive and Gary Numan isn't. Fair play to them, I hope they can pull it off. At the very least they've taught me that I don't like Steampunk one bit.

Professor Elemental and BB BlackDog are pretty good Steampunk but on the whole yeah it's not the best genre in the world

I'm not a fan of The Cult but Gary Numan is brilliant booking :D

Unfortunately KMFDM have cancelled their Alt-Fest appearance despite us having a signed contract and a formally agreed booking in place. KMFDM have decided to take a USA tour despite this contract being in place. Which speaks volumes on the situation. Without wishing to pass the blame Alt-Fest have acted totally professionally and advertised their appearance as agreed with their agent as a formal contract and booking was in place and also agreed with their appointed European agent. This is a highly irregular way of doing business in the festival world.

This slot has now been filled and we know you won't be disappointed with coming announcements and apologise profusely that KMFDM have chosen not to honour a booking they were contracted to appear at. As a fan/crowd led event we believe it's important to share the actual facts and from our perspective apologise that the band have let YOU down as much as they have us.

This is a bit sh it was gonna watch them :-x

The entertainment value of the spat unfolding on KMFDM's facebook page surely beats anything any festival set could offer.

agreed

Can't blame them too much for taking a bigger paycheck in this day and age, but to try and deny otherwise is a bit of a low move. Bands do it all the time so people claiming they are never going to support the band are either over-reacting or REALLY passionate about the band.

I discovered Alt Fest a few days ago when The Defiled announced on their Facebook that they were playing.
Theres so many good bands playing! And its so close to my house; why didn't I hear about this last year?!
Either way, I'm so going to it!
