Slipknot would be the icing on the cake - and after the electric performance at Download. I think Sonisphere would be unfortunate not to have them, especially as 2 of the members will already be there! So it's not like they are performing else where as a band! I say - storm the line up once more and bring the boys down!

In the past Download has had success with entertainment like the Suicide Girls (and something else I can't remember). I believe something like that would go down well at Sonisphere as well ;)

Do we need this thread now that we have a 'confirmed bands section?' Recommendations could be put in the appropriate thread in there, maybe...

Putting Machine Head below Limp Bizkit wasn't the wrong thing to do. Limp Bizkit are the bigger band.
The way Machine Head reacted was wrong.
Don't even know how you can still support them after the way they treated all their fans at UK Sonisphere like gooseberry.

Rob Flynn put on the letter that they weren't playing because the manager of Sonisphere disgusted them or something.
Obviously not otherwise they'd cancel ALL Sonisphere appearances and not just UK one.

They are pricks

if your a fan of a band then you should support them no matter what im no arse licker....i just believe that they deserve more respect .....yeah the audience will be varied and yeah limpbizkit have a following....but the commercialism that goes into the limp show is unbelievable.....all about the money not the music....with them where as machinehead deserve for their hard work more respect from all fans theyve worked fuckin hard to get here i know personally....and my friend knows the limp bizkit circus all too well and i dont care what anyone says on here money has spoken on this and thats why machinehead are pissed off...
i have a musician friend who knows colin richardson personally ...slipknot machinehead producer......and ive heard all about the truth with dursts lot....when the money runs low the band reform ...not about the fans with them...

machinehead are a clan to be respected and do it for the music...if someone paid you a million dollars/pounds to play for an event would you take it?????
or would you play for the poor kids who cannot afford to go to the big events ...just to see there faces light up....???
think about it.....
they have pride.....

i will continue to fight there corner till someone stands up and gets this sorted....

That is pretty much the definition of arselicker ;)

Or do both to play for as many people as possible, you know, 'for the music' ;)
If they truely do it for the music, they would play regardless of position on the bill, set length, or payment.

It is sorted - Machine Head pulled out. The end.

Your whole post was a load of gooseberry.

Any of these would make me happy:

Gojira
Cradle of Filth
Tool
Septic Flesh
Pendulum
The Prodigy
Flogging Molly (seriously... that would be epic)
Slayer
Static-X

and others... though I haven't actually checked if any of those bands are free, it's just the "if sonisphere was perfect" list.

I still have a feeling Slipknot are gonna be playing...i can't explain it,i just feel it in me bones.

I actually pray that Kamelot would play on Sunday!Seriously! They may not be huge in the UK but they are phenomenal nonetheless!

Nightwish,Epica or Delain would also be great additions too!

All That Remains.
Gojira.
Amon Amarth.
THE DROPKICK MURPHYS!

And Lastly Pendulum and FAITH NO MORE
