Everything he said. But if you only have the money for 1 CD - Demanufacture. Wow. Don't get it confused with the remix album- Remanufacture though!!

For Metallica give all the obvious stuff a listen (kill 'em all, ride the lightning, master of puppets, and justice for all, metallica) but also check out the stuff they did in the 90's (Load, Reload) cos they're playing stuff off basically every album apart from st anger on the world magnetic tour...

Also give skindred's cover of electric avenue ( http://www.myspace.com/skindred ) a listen cos its so frakking funny and apparently they nearly always play it live. As for Machine Head listen to Clenching The Fists Of Dissent, Halo, Aesthetics Of Hate, Imperium all f*cking awesome songs :music-headbanger:
RHCP 06
BFMV 06
Trivium 07
Black Crusade 07
Megadeth 08
Foo Fighters 08
Unholly Alliance 08
B4MV 08
Metallica 09
Sonisphere 09
Muse 09

Millenium is a Killing Joke cover - you can find that on Transgression - sounds aright but not a patch on Killing Joke's version

as a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge machine head fan, pretty much any setlist would make me happy.

however, i expect them to play certain songs.

i expect they would open up with clenching the fists of dissent (my favourite), as they did at download a couple years back.

the staple songs would have to be: davidian, aesthetics of hate, old, imperium, the blood the sweat the tears, bulldozer and halo.

it would be nice to hear some of the lesser known songs played too though, such as the rage to overcome, block, im your god now, a farewell to arms, beautiful mourning, none but my own, from this day, crashing around you and bite the bullet.

but as i said, any mix of songs would appease me :D:D:D can't wait to see them

Hoping the BFMV set list will include:
Just another star
Hand of blood
Tears dont fall
Spit you out
Scream aim fire
Take it out me
waking the demon
ashes of the innocent
her voice resides
4 words (to choke upon)
the end :D

Noone will listen to this at all i expect but seeing as my favorite band this is what i'd reccomend for Coheed.

start by listening to(in this order and keep going if you like it :P) :
Welcome Home (Good Apollo album)
The Suffering (Good Apollo album)
Blood Red Summer (In Keeping Secrets Album)
Favour House Atlantic (In Keeping Secrets Album)
Three Evils (Embodied In Love And Shadow) (In Keeping Secrets Album)

If you like that stuff, get either or both of the albums:
In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3
or/and
Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume 1: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness

if you really really like that stuff, as those are the best two albums, go for No World For Tomorrow as the next album you buy and if you're still loving it get The Second Stage Turnbine Blade.

The four albums tell a story, which i can't be bothered to go into, but you can find out about it on wikipedia.

And if you're really really obsessed with them, Claudio has done some really good accoustic performances of various songs like: (you can find them on youtube)
Purple Haze http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFV2WWz6H-s
Forever Yours Faithfully http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCudZYXvqWk
Your Love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72LNnCQpTGQ
Sister Christian http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gC781bupVY

and loads more which are good (:

more to add, he has a side project which is called The Prize Fighter Inferno which is a one man band!
they have an album called My Brother's Blood Machine
good songs from that include:

Wayne Andrews, The Old Beekeeper
Who Watches The Watchmen
The Missing McCloud Boys

You might love the Coheed stuff but hate TPFI, but whatever just go out and listen to it if you want to.

Live performances are absolutely unimaginably amazing if you know the songs!
so yeh this probably will be completely ignored but hope it helped if anyone out there actually wants to get into the band!
Upcoming gigs:

Sonisphere 2010
Reading Festival 2010
Muse

1k918083 <-- use it if you want! ha. it's mainly here so i don't forget it :)
use it and mattonbass will give you head...

from what i've heard by coheed so far has been good, bit confused by the names of the albums but listening to the one with welcome home on it on spotify.

also to the dude who doesnt know any metallica none of their albums are really that much like st anger, it's critically seen as their worst album... if you like it maybe listen to the master of puppets album although ride the lightning is my favourite

:o WOW! :o
'St. Anger' is their worst album in many people's opinion.

At the festival they will probably play many songs from 'Death Magnetic' along with a lot of the 'Metallica' self titled album(Black Album) songs

Must hear songs for Noobs: 'Enter Sandman', 'Master of Puppets', 'One', 'Fuel', 'For Whom the Bell Tolls', 'Fade to Black'

I would recommend listening to any songs from 'Master of Puppets', 'Ride the Lightning', 'Metallica', 'Death Magnetic' albums (probably in that order)

Go and see Hundred Reasons on Sunday at Bohemia if you can. They're a really great live band.

Plus Fighting With Wire and Twin Atlantic on Saturday are 2 excellent up and combing bands at Bohemia.

Fighting With Wire are fantastic live! Saw Hundred Reasons briefly at Reading 2004 but wasn't into them then, have since bought their entire discography, they're a great band. Looking forward to seeing them at Soni, just hope they don't clash with anyone major!
