There are shops in the campsite that sell most provisions, but yes you can leave the campsite to go to the local shops in Stevenage. The shuttle bus from the campsite to stevenage trainstation runs all weekend and there's a massive tescos at Stevenage trainstation.

If I have enough time on the Monday morning I might go to that Tesco before I head home.

I don't think there is much point going to Stevenage during the festival as by the time you've paid for your travel there and back you may as well have just paid the inflated price for whatever you wanted in the actual festival.

Aye! Unless you've got a car and can drive. Should also say I believe the shuttle buses only go from station to festival on Thursday/Friday, due to the amount of people travelling in that direction to get there - as it speeds things up not doing return trips. So you can only venture out of the festival sat/sun/mon via shuttle bus. Thurs/Friday you'd need to get a taxi or drive (and with the queues to get back in it really wouldn't be worth it, so I'd get anything you need before going in on those days).

I think if you've already bought a shuttle bus ticket in advance then you get unlimited journeys.

Can always walk from the site into Stevenage, then get the bus back with shopping. Not like there's that much else happening on the Thursday that you can't spare 45 mins or so!
Stoppin and stayin, I would if I could

No you are ok - it is just is kinda like an invasion for them - and i guess it must be kind of a culture shock having hundreds of metal fans descend on their usual shopping grounds!

But i was making light of it
