We'll be there from the 3rd (evening) :) First Sonisphere, When Maiden and Metallica Announced, I said jokingly, I only need the Prodigy to announce and it would be my perfect festival...

This is my first festival- but as a huge Dropkick Murphys fan I've finally bitten the bullet!!

Likewise, on my jack jones, late 30s, pregnant wife manning the fort while my lifetime ambition to see Metallica finally comes good! Done 15 years on the trot at T in the park, never done a metal fest though. Can't wait - would be cool to catch up with folks around to get the lowdown on who to go see.

There will be three of us driving down from Inverness. We morph into 30-something grumpy arses if we don't get a decent nights kip, so we'll be in quiet camping too. The other two are threatening to wear kilts. I'm not sure I'm keen on that idea, their legs are pasty white and should not be allowed out in public!

And does anybody know how long new members are having their posts moderated before they go on the board? Perhaps the moderator might reply and let me know...

:) Cheers... well lets see how long I have to wait for this to appear :)

Seeing Metallica for the first time at the 40th anniversary of Knebworth on the same bill as Iron Maiden and The Prodigy (I still can't get used to calling it sonisphere...) Hoping to have a great weekend and meet up with some great people from all over, even though I will be missing new baby and mum awfully, I think I might be able to let go of that for a few hours each day, I have seen Maiden and Prodigy around a dozen times each but have never seen Metallica before so that is going to be ... hmmm, what would that be... Great? Magnificent? Indescribable? What would you class it as?

We will be arriving around 6 or 7 pm on the thursday and would like to (if possible) camp near some friendly people, unfortunately FreeWoman cannot come with us as we have had FreeBaby 3 months early and therefore it would not be such a great idea to bring FreeBaby with us and a total lack of worthy baby sitters at home means both Baby and Mum will have to stay home with the other two little ones... So we were coming as a family but now it is just dad and kyle (16 yrs old) and it would be cool if anyone else with teenagers would like some company or are willing to share their own company with us over the weekend. It will mainly just be for the camping as we have no idea what our schedule will be apart from seeing the headliners. 16 year old step son has never been to a gig before never mind one as amazing as this and I sincerely want him to be able to fully enjoy it all without boring him to death as an old fogey might :) Or put him off for life :) So anyone going with teenagers, it would be cool if we could camp close by to each other if possible.

So how many of us are arriving thursday (afternoon / evening) and if you have been to this particular campsite before is there a large amount of toilets? Sinks ? Food outlets? available at the quiet camping site?

Ok lets see if this post goes straight up to the thread...
Love Peace and Respect.

I'm coming down with my 14 year old son, its not his first gig but is his first festival.
Would be nice to find others with teenage kids to hang out with at the camp (We have most the weekends bands we want to see and rasslin' sorted on clashfinder) He will drive me insane if he is the only person I have to talk to all weekend lol and it would be nice for him to make some new friends along the way :) (and also I wouldnt be the only embarrassing drunken parent in the group :music-deathmetal: )

You will need photographic evidence to take home to prove how much of a embarrassing parent you are :D

She has to put up with me every single day. No photos or proof required. :D

Although she has me as a friend on Facebook so that could prove interesting as I post drunken pics from Sonisphere. I'm supposed to be the one monitoring her to make sure she uses social media responsibly....

FreeMan and son, I'm driving down on the Thursday, I was with camp loner in '09 and sub loner groups the other 2 years, I'm in quiet/family this year (Loner would be wwaayyy to wild for my lad and I have to attempt to behave a bit more this year :/ ) (my facebook is already littered with pics of me misbehaving at festivals, its just the norm to my lads now lol .. we should try and make a small group for the quiet folk and save room for anyone coming down friday

we are coming friday morning as i couldn't get thursday off either, does the quiet camping fill up quickly, im concerned we are going to end up with a rubbish pitch, are people on here sort of camping together, would be nice to have the security of keeping an eye on each others tents, but then again its my first sonisphere so as you can see, i know nothing!
