Can I mosh?

Postby Ker » Fri Dec 03, 2010 8:56 pm

I've been deciding whether to go to Download or Sonisphere in 2011, and this is an important factor, because I really love moshing  :P

I noticed that Download festival does not permit moshing and crowd-surfing as it is deemed 'dangerous' and stuff :?, and was wondering what the rules are for Sonisphere?

Thanks,

Davy

I believe the rules similarly state "no" just to coever their arses (in case of injury)..but there has been plenty of both the last 2 years and nobody has gotten into trouble, or kicked out for doing either! so the answer is basically yes, but they'll tell you no :P

Sorry, no moshing at Sonisphere at all. We don't have mosh pits well al sit down and drink tea instead. It gets bad and you burn your tongue sometimes but its a risk i love to take

I believe this is all stated on the back of each ticket.

though to be fair, the EXACT same is true of Download.

it's to cover their arses. if you get a broken arm in a wall of death, both festivals would like to be able to say "oh, well we told you not to mosh it's not our fault!". it's a health and safety/liability thing, not an actual enforced rule at either fest
in my experience, there's not much difference in the pits at either festival.

but come to soni anyway, it's much better :D if you much prefer the lineup for Download, stick with that, but I truly think everything else about soni is much superior. if you're looking at the lineup and wavering, go for soni.

You're only allowed to mosh if you're a girl and it's in my tent.

An insider at Kilimanjaro told me that Sonisphere will be an all-seater festival next year.

In that video there doesn't seem to be that much tbh :/ Machine Head - Halo is one of my favourite songs ever, mind. Espiecially the 2 breaks where the bass does that slide :) :music-headbanger:

circle pits aren't that good imo :/
I like pits were everyone is running into and pushing each other and stuff personally :music-headbanger:

SOAD are headlining Download (dunno which day) and I REALLY love them. But it's during my GCSEs :S That's why I'm more likely to go to Soni. Plus 3 of my mates are already planning to go Soni. But if the moshingness is pretty much the same at Soni as DL then I'll probably go for Soni, unless I can somehow persuade the parents to let me go in the middle of GCSEs
-.^

I might try and compromise and just go for one day, whichever day SOAD are headlining :)

what I meant was, it's a mosh pit. it looks pretty decent. how much worse can you expect it to get? like I said, it's a lot different watching it to actually being in it.

Oh, and Kial, I'll never forget the almightly Lamb Of God :romance-inlove:

Hatebreed havent played Soni tho have they?

Lol, go near a big pit at Soni or Download and you'll sh*t bricks. Ive been to tons of gigs and pitted every time, but even people like me get scared of them at festivals  such as the LoG circle pits ive been in.

Have you ever been to a festival before? You'd probably understand to savour your energy at times aswell otherwise you'll be destroyed by saturday morning

hahaha, true, some of the sunday evening pits are a bit lethargic, there's nothing left in the tank!
