Is there a limit to how much you can take in?

Probably "enough for personal consumption", though that must be very hard to police.

I've not heard that myself. I had more than 1 crate last year & a few bottles of spirits, though I wasn't searched so I don't know if it would have been taken off me or not.

Bottom line is, I don't know.

I think they'd only stop you if it was somehow clear it wasn't just for you and your friends. I don't think I've ever seen anyone stopped for having too much.

I think they put that on the t&c so that if there is a problem, they're in the right legally. ie someone with 500 cans selling them cheaper than the official price can't claim "you didn't say it wasn't allowed".
Same as the "no crowdsurfing" rule. Do it a few times over the weekend, security won't care, or probably won't even notice. Do it 20 times for the same band and you might be in trouble.

Ive seen people taking wheelbarrows in that are mainly booze, with a few camping supplies. Obviously its for their entire campsite and not just them, but they got in fine.

Can you get the wheelbarrows in the car park? Heard that somewhere I think. Will be buying my 3-4 crates in a few weeks. A crate a day keeps the headaches away :).

I've also seen guys with those little push trollies, for carting around heavy boxes and stuff like that. One guy had 6 crates on one of those little things  so i don't really think they'd be bothered about booze limit, unless you were going with a completely stupid amount. If you say it's for you and all your friends then i'm sure you'd get away with about 5 crates.

Why would you need more then 5 crates for the weekend anyway? Unless you're going with about 20 people

from the website -

Alcohol - You are allowed to bring a reasonable amount of your own alcohol into the campsite but will not be able to take it into the arena. A reasonable amount is seen as a case of beer/cider and a bottle of spirits per person.

Moshing - You are allowed to undertake a reasonable amount of moshing in the arena but will not be able to mosh into the campsite. A reasonable amount is seen as one circle or 'push pit' per song, and up to one wall of death per person, per set.
