Valid ID

Postby weloveclover » Mon Jun 13, 2011 4:21 pm

Here's my problem, at the moment I use my provisional liscene to prove my age but due to the timing of my driving lesson if I pass I will not have it due to it being swapped for a full liscene.

I WILL NOT take my passport to the festival.

I have recently found the ISIC online and brought one. Will this be accepted at Sonisphere? It has D.O.B. and a photo and is regonised by the goverment as valid ID but have heard some people reject it.

tl;dr Will ISIC travel cards be accepted as ID?

I'd email to check, I don't recall this being asked before. You could also bring your passport and rent a locker - that's what I did two years ago - after proving I was over 18 the first time, they gave me an over 18 wristband and I left my passport in the locker for the weekend, although I'm not sure if they still do the over 18 wristbands either I'm afraid =/

Yeah I don't trust my passport going seeing as I leave for spain a week after. Any ideas for an adress to email?

Sorry to hijack, I've contacted the Soni website - but should they say that there are no over 18 wristbands - is there any form of UK ID that one can obtain to prove they are 18+? I'm not a student and do not have a UK drivers licence (had Aussie but misplaced it) and really don't want to take my passport!

Take your passport, show it to the staff and get a wristband then put it in a locker for the weekend.

Lockers are only £12

I'd assume they'd follow the rules any other bar does, which basically means either passport, driving license or citizenship card.
Can you not just wait til after the fest before you send the provisional off? You can keep it a little while before exchanging it, as that's what i did cause I passed a week before my 18th birthday.

No problem, if you bring a USB charger you can charge your phone or iPod (assuming you have one) for the weekend.

I seem to remember panicking because I'd forgotten to buy a car one, rushed around some shops but couldn't find any, and it turned out they had a choice of pretty much any charger for £5 (I think it was) which I was well impressed with :)

I have a provisional but with my theory test a day after i come back i don't want to take it with the risk of losing it! Would they accept an expired passport?

I would suggest you bring your provisional with you and put it in a locker after you get your Over 18's wrist band

An expired passport is fine as long as it still has your picture and DOB on it!

The over 18 wristband is back this year too so you only need to prove your age once.
