Hi There
I took my van last year. Found the information on the website was useless, and when i got some reponses from people on the forum it was all pretty inaccurate.
But the campavan field was cool last year, real close to the entrance to bohemia with plenty of toilets and no queues for the water. We even had a tent by the van. We got into the campa field a day early with our early entry passes, contrary to the information i was give.

Last year they said no awnings, gazeebos, tents and only proper camping vans would be allowed.
But in reality they were pretty relaxed about everything. So i would just chance it.

It was a free for all, tents and awnings everywhere. But they claimed it wasn’t allowed. So it may be worth getting an official response, as they may get stricter next year.

If memory serves correctly you were allowed to pitch one tent beside your van per pitch. seemed like a good plan to me :)

Last year i was told out right by Team Sonisphere no tents. But i remember there were two cars by the toilets last year with with at least 3 tents by them.
I would always take the official line with a pinch of salt.

What you have to remember is ... if they officially say yes you can camp and everyone brings 3 tents ... there wont be room for all the campervans. The problem you will get with assuming that they dont mean what they say is if they end up with a no more room for campervans problem ALL tents pitched will have to be removed. At a guess I would say that the best option would be to allow 1 tent per campervan, but I will let you know the official outcome when I have it :)

Exactly, pinch of salt.
Take everything you want to use with you, which is easy in a big van. Pitch your tents, awnings etc. But dont be disappointed when they ask you to take it down. As long as they as you politely.
Thats what i did last year year and it was F'n GREAT. :music-deathmetal:

You need to pay the balance off by 31st May 2010. Once you pay your deposit you should be told how to go about completing your order. You will select your camping options (campervan) when you complete I think :)

Can I ask a question - My pals are going in the campervan - and they said I could pitch a small tent next to them as I have never been to Sonisphere or any festival for that matter!!

And they would like me to be near to them - so they can keep a eye on me - they said it would be ok to do this as long as its small??? And of course find me again for the trip back!!

Before you ask - the pair are newly weds - don't want to cramp their style!!

So why does it say the following on the info bit

Campervans are defined as a self-propelled vehicle that has been either designed or converted to contain a sleeping area. You may pitch one tent OR awning (of a reasonable size) with each vehicle.

You can pitch one tent next to your campervan, but you have to use your discretion because if you have more than one tent, or a tent and an awning or a tent of a non suitable size you may be asked to remove it.
