Personally, I'd recommend clothes as well. But then I am something of a traditionalist.

Optional, imho
A kid once said to me “Do you get hangovers?” I said, “To get hangovers you have to stop drinking.

If you're driving, take a cool box to throw your beer/food in. You don't need to take food but unless you fancy the hour plus round trip to Tesco or paying £3-6 a pop for festival food, it would be good to take stuff.

I'm the only one who ever seems to mention handheld phone chargers but seriously, a handheld phone charger is the best thing. If you're the type who does use your phone a fair bit then it really saves having to rely on often overpriced charge tents.

Definitely:
Bog roll
Wet wipes
Bin bags
Toothpaste/toothbrush
Camping mat or something to go under your sleeping bag
Pillow
Torch + batteries

if there's even a chance it'll be wet:
Waterproof
Wellies
And my top tip - a few small resealable sandwich bags. These are brilliant for keeping your phone, wallet, smokes (if you smoke) etc dry. Also you can fit a load of bog roll fairly flat in one meaning you'll always have dry bog roll with you, so no sudden panic when you realise there's none in the otherwise immaculate :? festival toilet you waited ages for!

I highly recommend mouthwash too because you will taste like gooseberry every morning. tbh, you learn what you need or want the more fests you go to- personally I don't do a camping mat, and although this is like, my 8th festival, there's a few bits this year I've never taken before- a car air freshener for the tent (it gets pongy), a portable power bank for my phone (trying it now and it actually works!!) and some eye drops to try and banish dry tired red eyes. And always remember that although it's good to be prepared it's not the end of the world if you aren't- they sell everything at the fest!

Essentials:
Ear plugs
Some form of warm jumper for night time as its almost always freezing
Disposable rain poncho...its not really going to rain right? so you can throw one of these in your bag just in case
Definitely a camping mat....you wont survive without one
I personally recomment rehydration tablets like zero or nuun or dyrolyte....you would be amazed how much impact they have on a hangover :)
Towel
Black sacks ...for wet clothes, make a rain coat, sit on mud, fancy dress :)
Emergency rations :) always good to have something foodwise in the bag
torch
enough cash for the whole weekend in case the bank machines dont work
no idea if you are a boy or a girl but if a girl pack a mirror for your makeup :)
comfy boots or shoes
toilet paper = andrex on the go from amazon
My FMC Number:1k992916 DO NOT miss Sonisphere 2014- be there..be part of the magic!!!

I've done fine without one before.
