Gaming - Rock Band

Postby rockgeek » Tue Mar 10, 2009 1:42 pm

Anyone else? I didn't think RB1 was great. Also got RB2 but haven't opened - is there much difference?

Not too much of a difference, but you can transfer all the songs from RB1 to the second (using 200 or something microsoft points), then sell the first one ;)

Not to mention the awesome 400 odd DLC songs on the music store, tis much better than what GH has become.

Can't wait for Ten Next week!

If it would allow the creation of custom setlists over 100 songs I'd so try the Ultimate setlist(every song inc DLC). It would probably take me 1000 hours though as I have a large majority of DLC, all RB1 songs as well as the RB2 and ACDC songs all available on RB2 :D

yeah it would take you some time. it took me over seven hours to do the endless setlist, not including breaks and my left hand felt like it had been pulverised. if it included dlc i think i would have failed cuz thrasher is just brutal

Was that RB1 endless setlist, cos it took me and some friends like 6 - 8 hours (expert full band). Havnt even attempted the RB2 one, but its got 84 songs so im guessing it will take me a fair bit longer. I can beat everything on guitar so far, but I think I'd struggle with some DLC songs on drums (Wake up Dead - and some of the other Peace sells songs, Blackened come to mind)

it was the RB2 one. did it on expert guitar. i had to take breaks tho cuz my hand was cramping up like mad. including breaks it took me about 10 hours. luckily i was at work so i had peace and quiet

Yeah, im tempted one day to go through it solo on expert drums but havnt had the time to do it yet. Will probably just try and get together with others and do it as a band as I'll find it more enjoyable.

Well to those who doubt Rock Band. Its about to get a whole lot more epic.

Next weeks DLC has Coheed & Cambria (amongst others - its bonaroo fest pack). But yeah the week after that we get... Iron Maiden Best of 12 pack :D :D Im hugely excited. Songs are:

Aces High
2 Minutes to Midnight
The Trooper
Wasted Years
The Number of the Beast
Run to the Hills
Can I Play with Madness
The Clarivoyant
Powerslave
Fear of the Dark (Live)
Hallowed Be Thy Name (Live)
Iron Maiden (Live)

FEAR OF THE DARK MOFOS!

Ahem.... As you can see, im hugely excited for this, as its the first time Iron Maiden have let there masters be used for any music game.

But yeah the Rock Band DLC is immense. Just got an Alice Cooper 6 pack the other week there, and there probably near approachign 800 songs on their music store...

Rock Band when drunk kicks ass! I hated guitar hero though.

I am officially the most awkward and untalented drummer in the world! The most funny bit though was convincing one of my more vertically-challenged, bespectacled and oh-so-welsh friends to sing "Just a Girl" by No Doubt in a falsetto voice. Good times...

I have every instrument, over 500 songs and can only play 2 instruments on expert as long as they're 2 stars or under. I only started playing 6 months ago. It's so addictive. RB3 BTW.

Anybody for a game? I have all 3 games. Oh and I'm xbox

Hmmm Rock Band, love it but can't quite make the jump between easy expert and facemelting squidly solo expert...
On guitar at least, drums and vox mess me up, the drum kit keeps breaking and when ever I'm on vox I end up drunk and screetching like a cat with a stamped on tail... Yeah I basically get drunk and do Bon Jovi numbers :P
