PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
So we've enabled the new theme ready for 2014!
If you're having any major problems with using it then please go here: viewforum.php?f=10
There are several different colour schemes which can all be changes from your control panel: ucp.php?i=165
We still have the old style enabled but we'll be archiving this away at the end of the year so be warned
Hope you like it but as above, if you have any issues, please do let us know
Thanks,
Admin Team

The lime is quite nice, like waking up in a gin and tonic.
Re: PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
I would have liked to test some more black backgrounds against themes but I think what's there will do for now unless there's a demand to see what it'll look like

Re: PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
Not so keen on the Teal - it's like being in the background of a Michael bay film. I keep expecting an orange-faced Shia Laboeuf to run across my screen.
Re: PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
If you choose orange, the option to change colours disappears? and it says metro where it said sonisphere.
So yeah, i'm stuck in orange.

Re: PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
Try now - to change the theme. I'll have a look at the other issues when I get a chance
Re: PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
Red also says Metro instead of Sonisphere.
BTW, New theme is horrendous. Should at least have some of Sonisphere's cool artwork behind it.
Keeping 2011's theme in protest. Fight the power. frakk the police.

Re: PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
Sonisphere doesn't even have a logo for 2014 yet. Patience.

Not removing this from my signature until:
Sonisphere UK 2013 is confirmed: [WELP.]
Headliner announcements made: [NOPE.]
Alter Bridge booked: [NADA.]
Arcane Roots booked: [NEVER.]
Outkast booked: [HAHA, NO.]

There's no artwork yetbartleby wrote:Should at least have some of Sonisphere's cool artwork behind it
Most people seem to like it - what don't you like about it?

It's just really plain. Boring. Doesn't really say anything about Sonisphere.

Re: PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
I've yet to come across a forum that "says anything" about the main website
being plain and clean means the content comes to life and is the focus.
The only "real" difference between this theme and the last is the logo and background. As we haven't got any artwork yet, we can't tailor the forums accordingly unfortunately.
So once we get the artwork through then hopefully we can incorporate more of that into the designs
Boo

Re: PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
I'll reserve judgement until the artwork arrives but at the moment it's plain, boring and far to white to be staring at for any longer than five minutes. But yeah, think my main gripe is the background, probably be fine once that's incorporated.

Re: PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
Each to their own I suppose but I like it being fresh and clean

Re: PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
I think it's ok actually
Re: PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
well its metro which automatically means its evil like with all windows metro products... though as a solution just dont turn off the 2011 ones? i mean does it hurt just having the old theme there for those that wish to use it?

Yes - usage and security reasons. It's why software firms stop supporting legacy systems. it's too much effort to maintain

yeah for software, themes of software are generally transferable between any system, even if you update the software to the forum as long as it isnt a radical change it shouldnt effect the theme at all
Re: PLEASE READ: NEW THEME
Not for phpBB it isn't as some of the functionality and usage could contain bugs. phpBB themes are specifically design with a version in mind. There's 12 people using the theme out of 5200. The 2011 theme was very customised.
Like Windows XP. It still works but it's not worth the bandwidth, server resource our our time to keep it.

ouch, ill admit like 99% f my experience with forums is with Vbullitin but honestly this sounds like some bad software if thats happening, well whatever anyway, honestly only reason im not using the new ones is they will look pretty bad until the art work is sorted for them, and a black background would be nice
