Re: Announcements coming soon

I'm going, festival or not. They can't frakking stop me, not with my camp stealth. By that I mean I camp stealthily, not that I'm stealthily camp. I firmly reject any insinuation of my campness being masked in any way. Anyway, I'm frakking going to Sonisphere '15, even if I have to hold it myself wi...

Re: Announcements coming soon

It's the digital version, presumably subscriber copies are in the mail. There aren't many readers though, I think it's just me, Steve Davis, and this weird guy who spends most every day mumbling outside Loughborough station. It's real though, just not much to be going on. Probably just asked him wh...

Re: a Landmark for the Founder

I saw that Kate Middleton once, kept shouting SLAYER! SLAYER! SLAYER! At her until she told me the name of her unborn baby.

She lied though, so in retrospect my method was flawed.

There were two water points within walking distance of my tent and I'm a fat lazy bastard who won't walk very far.

Re: The VIP Community Thread

I went in RR for the location; minimising the distance between tent and car, tent and toilet, and tent and arena. It meant I had much more time and energy for the festival. The other bits and pieces were just add-ons that were of little actual value but added some charm - access to the barns was a n...

Re: The State of Sonisphere 2015

There's a competition to win VIP tickets for next years event, so things are looking very good indeed. Just need them to put early bird tickets on sale now. Has there been any other word on it? Mates had an excellent time this year. I said I wouldn't go back, but if the line up is good enough I'll ...

Re: The State of Sonisphere 2015

Until the bigger bands start putting out new albums more regularly then they'll always be doing pretty much the same set year on year.

But there's no point putting out new material if people won't pay for it.

Hey Eddie, you and your crew were magnificent and we all loved showing off our festival to you. The ladies were a bit swoonsome, but that generally happens when you guys fly over to hand out silk stockings and Hershey Bars ;)

Re: The 2014 Rant Thread

Second Stage sound was pretty muddy, not sure if that was the prevailing wind blowing the sound back on itself though. Traders putting up prices on Sunday to take advantage of the Metallica day trippers who wouldn't know better... Unseemly scrum to get into RR; a couple more stewards could have got ...

So, on the eve of my nineteenth festival, thinking back to those long-ago times when I'd be listening to Tommy Vance on the night before Donington, those crazy Reading festivals when you'd be worried about the Sunday night riot, Ozzfests, Downloads, and hell, even the London Jazz Festival back when ...
