Re: FLAGPOLE TIME!!!

I am so sorry about this. The campsite team were tasked with putting it up and I told them where and how many people to leave space for. Unfortunately I was too busy to check that it had happened. I'm really disappointed that we let you down. If something like this happens again please get a messag...

[Copy of what just got posted in the Facebook group for any non FB'ers on here] Operation Herding Cats (or Loners who are turning up before the gates open) Note: All times are approximate. Directions are based on the 2011 layout, but from the build photos, it's very similar. 10:00 to 13:00 I'm due t...

Re: How far from campervan site to arena?

Here is the currently published site map http://cdn.strictlysonisphere.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/SiteMap.jpg If memory serves, you're looking at around 15 minutes normal walking, but there are a few dips and inclines. As far as I know, Accessibility Camping includes a vehicle at the side of y...

Re: Boardie meet up on the Thursday?

You have to wear head-tits so people recognise you. I will bring my Gorilla "Excuse me steward, I'm looking for a group of people I'm supposed to be meeting. One with tatty bojangles on his head, one riding a gorilla" ... "No, I haven't been smoking anything" ... "Well, act...

Re: Boardie meet up on the Thursday?

I sometimes stop and think how different my life would be if I had never been a Sonisphere boardie and it's quite frankly shocking. Any of the other oldies feel the same? I do. I'd probably have some shreds of dignity left, a functioning liver... I'm up for sticking my head in for a meet-up, gonna ...

Re: Festival regrets/lessons learned

Not taking my loosely fitting sunglasses off before being profusely sick on one particularly over exuberant Thursday afternoon at Reading in my teens. As I crawled out of my tent, knowing exactly what was coming, they swang off the end of my nose and covered my mouth, resulting in them being covere...

Remember to fill up a water bottle at night. You can pretty much guarantee the water points will be busy in the morning when you're wanting to have a brew / brush your teeth / stave of the raging fires of dehydration

Go to Download, dance to Flogging Molly.

If you survive, you can handle anything. If you fall, you wouldn't have made it past the Dropkicks anyway

Re: Camp Pirate

I'm gonna throw my hat in with Loner / Moocrab this year (camped with them for the last two Downloads, so makes sense). Though if any old school Pirates join up, we can always declare an independent state within Camp Loner.

It looks like Camp Pirate isn't going ahead this year, so I guess I'll have to settle for camping with you lightweights :(

Halifax, but not decided how I'm getting down there yet.

Does the server run on Win95 or sommat?

Or is this a clever plan, like the pre-pitched tents? "Order your drugs online now, and they will be pre-prepared for you when you arrive at the festival" ;)

Making the system is great, but writing more than 200 words ("err, yeah .. this is the database") is starting to worry the gooseberry out of me. "This is a database. It starts with the letter D. So does Dragon. Dragons are much more interesting than databases. Databases can't breathe...

Re: Let Us Discuss What Ye Be Thinking Right Now

Night time lessons are shite, you can't see a thing so practicing maneuvers is proper hard... That's what makes learning in winter good. I knew people who were terrified of trying to park at night. I learnt in the dark, fog, even snow so I've never been in conditions I was worried to drive in. In o...
