Re: 'Sonipshere 2012 Cancelled' *confirmed* :'-(

I can't help but find your sig hilarious, now. I'd say put Avenged on the Saturday and have Maiden close the festival. Or, of course, have Avenged under Maiden and put System of a Down on the Saturday, if they're ready to play shows again. Tool will be available too, most likely. Van Halen/Scorpion...

Muse AND AC/DC? Do you want any undercard at all? Maiden, KISS and Avenged would be fine with me. I doubt Copping will have Van Halen now, so we could see them with Scorpions co-headlining on the Friday? Thats a good idea. Maiden, Van Halen and Avenged Sevenfold would sell tickets, especially if th...

My sentiments exactly.

It will be really sad to never be able to go back there, especially after I decided to skip last year. There was a vibe that Ive never experienced anywhere else

If they come back next year it needs to be a lineup that will shift tickets, bands that could probably sell out 40,000 plu places on their own

Im thinking

Iron Maiden
Muse
AC/DC

I think Queen will play a one dayer at Milton Keynes bowl and bring a few bands with them, the Darkness could be one of them

Re: 'Sonipshere 2012 Cancelled' Rumours

The late announcing bands is surely the most important factor. People dont have loads of money to burn these days, so the majority are going to snap up tickets to a festival with a farily strong lineup like Download had. This will be the last year for Sonisphere, they wont be able to bounce back fr...

Re: Announcement Tonight!

i'm not quite sure what i'd do if it were cancelled, I hope there's some news soon, i'm just sitting here about to have a heart attack because I know we'd get refunds but I already booked my flights and the cheapest I could find were some €200 with ryanair and they're not likely to give me my money...

Re: Announcement Tonight!

A guy on meh claims Soni have only sold 5k tickets. That can't be true surely, I've seen tiny festivals sell more than that. It will have sold more than that based on Queen being pretty much a world exclusive; I cant see that being true at all. My friend saw on another forum that its down to there ...

Most of the time, unless they are past it (sadly Deep Purple belong here), older bands have more experience for live shows

I wouldnt even class them as Golden Oldies. When I think golden oldies I think Deep Purple, Scorpions, Yes, AC/DC.

Who gives a frakk about how old bands are?

I think Kiss are legends, if not here then definitely over the pond. They obviously make a massive amount of money, but at least they put on a good show. I'm not a huge fan but I'm looking forward to partying to songs like Strutter, Duece, Calling Doctor Love, Rock n Roll all night and Love gun; and...

I am not sure the weather was the sole reason for the poor sound for Bill Bailey but it must have been a major contributory factor. I just couldn't hear a single word. It wasn't good. It will always affect comedians more than bands, if you miss even a single word of a comdedian it can ruin punchlin...

Re: Fake Lineup Posters

Placebo put on one of the best main stage performances of all three Soni's to date. I'd be happy for a re-booking. I was very tempted by the Indigo2 tickets. Heard it's a proper small venue! I thought their set was awful. It put me on a real downer, it was one of the sets I was really looking forwa...

That's just one performance though isn't it? I've heard good things about them, and I know people who were at Leeds fest last year and said they were great. Don't think it's fair to write them off completely from just that. All bands have off days, especially playing mid-bill at Reading. Ive seen t...

most people don't know who UFO are. Only true for the younger audience. They were big back in the mid70s to early 80s You mean the massive majority of Sonispheres demographic? I doubt they're a bohemia band, but a former member playing a few of their hits isn't enough to sub headline is he? Look at...
